With each session with Don, I become more limber and we are working out the back pain! I have been seeing him for 3 months and feel better and better with each session!

I really enjoyed my 10 sessions of pilates with Don. He really knows his stuff and is very good at explaining everything in great detail. My workout was tailored to my needs really working on my problem areas and slowly increasing the difficulty. This allows you to make progress each session without being overly sore the next day. He also has unique equipment to help enhance your workout and do things that you couldn't do at home on a mat.

I came to Don after my scoliosis specialist recommended pilates for physical therapy. I researched for hours upon hours for the best place to take it since pilates can pricey at best and I was looking for more individualized therapy than large group classes offered at gyms. It came as a surprise and relief to me how willing Don was to work with me for my psychical and financial needs since I am a student and have been able to afford it on my own. Also, I have been incredibly displeased with how I have been unheard and shuffled from health care professional to the next until Don took the time to listen and really figure out the quirks of my body. It has been the best investment in my health that I have made to date. I was always motivated because I got results and I truly felt that Don was personally invested in my success. He is very knowledgeable on how the human body can perform at its peak, so I highly recommend his service to anyone and everyone

Four weeks - 8 sessions - of pilates thus far is all it has taken for my husband to notice a significant improvement in the lifting of my derriere. Not bad for someone who went in to strengthen her leg muscles after a knee injury! Don has the unique ability of listening to your needs, providing focused direction and offering challenging workouts in a non-intimidating atmosphere. My knee is no longer hurting, my spirits are lifted, and my husband is happy with the results to date. Another reason to love Don? Try his Thai massage!

I never write reviews but must stress what a great experience I had.I travel frequently for business, airplane ride afrter airplane ride leaves my back stiff and sore. I had mentioned this to a friend while on business here in Dallas. He immediatley stressed the importance to me that before i left town, that i should go see Don at Core Matrix at Downtown Dallas Pilates. I have never done pilates but i figured id give it a try.Being that i lift weights, i figured it would be a breeze, However, THIS IS a workout. And also informational. He made me aware of my posture problems and inbalances in my body and ways to correct them.After the workout, i mentioined i still had stiffness in my neck, at this point he also informed me their thai yoga massage. I was expecting a traditional massage and was suprised at the different techniques that thai yoga brought with it. I can honestly say that i felt like i was 20 again. Now just gotta find the T top camero and ill be set ;) Thank you Don and Downtown Dallas Pilates!

I have had years of back problems and I decided to see if Downtown Dallas Pilates could help my pain. Don Kirby, helped me when nothing else did! His work outs strengthened my back and I have never felt better! Downtown Dallas Pilates is also called Core Matrix. Core Matrix encompasses an array of services (yoga, massage, nutritional programs, boot camps, etc.) while Downtown Dallas Pilates is specifically focused on Pilates, both mat and machine. This company is run by an independent instructor, Don Kirby.Don is a great instructor. He really cares about his clients and he will work extra hard to make sure you are satisfied with your work out. His most important goal is to give you a great workout in a safe environment. "If it hurts, don't do it!" He listens to his clients and will modify the workout to fit their needs. The classes are small (5 people at most) so he gives a lot of 1-on-1 feedback, which is helpful.As for Pilates, the key is doing it right and doing it consistently. I've been with Don for 3+ years and I'm addicted. My back, my knees, my overall strength and flexibility; it's all progressing positively thanks to Don's Pilates. I felt a change in my body after a month of work outs, a real change after 3 months. Now if I go a couple weeks without a class, my body physically aches. It is a wonderful thing to do if you have joint/back issues and want to get stronger. I highly recommend Don because he's a great instructor and he's reasonably priced!
