When I moved to Asheville, NC 21 years ago, I searched for a Kripalu trained instructor and found a truly gifted one in Kelly McKibben. Her teaching has evolved over the years so that those of us fortunate enough to study with her are continually graced with her expertise and skill, her bright spirit and her devotion to an ancient practice that brings about health and well-being.

I’ve been doing yoga with Kelly at Good Yoga since 2005. I walk/Zoom into her studio with the heavy load of the day’s stress and leave with a light energy and loose muscles. Her gentle yoga is just what I need after sitting at my computer all day. It always ends up that the asanas and theme of each class is exactly what I need emotionally as well as physically that day. Her nurturing and soothing style of teaching makes me keep coming back. I’ve tried yoga all over Asheville, but Good Yoga is by far my favorite and fits me perfectly.

I have taken Kelly’s Yoga classes for several years now, even ZOOMING happily w/ her excellent rich instructions. I have benefited and delighted in my experiences w/ her multi faceted approach, using her long trainings in Therapeutic Yoga as well as her deep use of language to amplify the class growth. She also does one on one training if needed or requested. She is wise, funny and most caring and kind!

Kelly has been my yoga guru for many years, and she is remarkably talented! After offering classes via Zoom during the pandemic, she recently began working with individuals and very small groups in person. My friend and I meet with her on a weekly basis and are greatly appreciative of the personalized approach she brings to our sessions.

I have been practicing yoga through Kelly and Good Yoga for about 10 years...each session slightlydifferent and always satisfying. Kelly focuses on our individual needs during each session andcares about keeping us moving and agile. She is a gift to my aging aging process! Thank you Kelly!

I took my first yoga class of Kelly's at UNCA in a large class she offered for seniors. She was amazingly personal for such a large class. I have continued taking classes 6 years with her on a weekly basis for many important reasons. Kelly treats each person in our classes with dignity and with genuine concern for any personal, emotional, or medical issue that they may be experiencing. I have AMD (macular degeneration) and have had NO problems continuing yoga because Kelly is so articulate in her descriptions, I could easily follow her directions even if I were blind. She is so attuned to her yoga participants that she always asks if there are specific issues that need to be addressed in a session, e.g, lower back pain, stiffness in an area, etc. My 90 minutes with her are SO valuable physically and spiritually as she blends presence and awareness consciousness into her teaching. I would likely seek her for private sessions before seeking medical treatment for many problems that older adults face, such as back and neck pain, joint pain, and even depression.I began class one morning with digestive issues. Kelly often mentions an ache or condition that a particular yoga movement can help alleviate. So I followed her suggestions, and it took care of the digestive problem. She works well with any age student and takes time to help us figure out what will help us, without any criticism. I always leave her classes feeling cared about. At 77, I know that one huge reason for my good health is doing yoga. You won't find a better healer or coach-to-wellness practitioner than Kelly.

I so appreciate the experience, expertise, planning and care that are the basis of Kelly's teaching. Classes are designed to move students sequentially through a variety of postures so that there is truly a flow. She takes into consideration the needs of individuals as well as of the group as a whole. In each class and through each series I am motivated, challenged, inspired and calmed. Her home/studio is a pristine, personal and comfortable place for building a true community. Through the Zoom "studio" Kelly has built, she has been able to convey the same level of excellence that we knew in face-to-face classes. Gentle, caring and funny, Kelly reminds us to be good to ourselves and our world and to appreciate our humanity in body, mind and spirit.

Kelly is a phenomenal teacher ! I have been taking yoga with her consistently for over 10 yrs and her classes always feel new and energizing. She understands the human body and the aging human body so well. She knows how to get us safely into and out of poses. Her focus on the breath and posture have both had significant impacts on my body and life. She injects a good dose of the spiritual aspect of yoga that I very much appreciate. I leave every class feeling that it was just what my body needed in the moment. I have wondered what I will do if she ever retires!!! Good yoga is an integral part of my wellness routine. Kelly manages to address a roomful of unique needs with ease and grace.
