Strength Ratio is by far the best gym I have lifted in/with. The coaches are super knowledgeable, attentive and engaging. The space is clean and organized. Also, the community is friendly, open to all types of athletes and supportive. Five stars aren’t enough!

I've worked with Zach at Strength Ratio for a few months now for both personal training and personal programming. After an ill-fated, too fast foray into weight lifting solo, I had injuries in both shoulders and was exhausted from a year of pain and the frustration of not getting better. I had tried everything - physical therapy, cortisone shots, massage, acupuncture, astym, dry needling, you name it. I reached out to SR because I have a friend that goes there and seemed to love it, and because Zach seemed to have a lot of experience with rehabbing injuries. Zach got me on a plan to regain my strength, and I've made more progress in the last 4 months towards healing than I had in over a year of all those other things combined. The gym is friendly towards beginners, women, queers and welcomes people of all stripes. I love their science backed approach and the non- "bro-y" vibe. Zach and all the coaches are kind, respective and supportive. They play great music in there as well. The experience of these injuries sucked badly, but ultimately led me to SR, so I'm grateful for that.

I joined Strength Ratio in 2018 after just about a year or so in my weightlifting career. My own barbell club had suddenly stopped and a few of my friends had moved over to Strength Ratio, looking for a new home. I did a trial class shortly after and immediately joined, never looking back.I have never been in a gym before where I felt as safe, seen and supported as I do here - esp as a woman! The confidence around strength training I've gained from the education and experience I've had here has changed my life in many ways! The community is strong, there are no Egos running the show, and everyone moves SO well. From people brand new to exercise, to very talented athletes, you can see that everyone is treated with respect and given the supported they individually need to succeed. They continually prioritize the whole person in each client they see, knowing that life outsides the gym and our mental health is just as important as , and can influence, what we do in the gym.The owner's and coach's knowledge is top-teir. I finally felt like I was not only getting stronger, but learning the fundamentals of resistance training, weightlifting and sustainable exercise. Knowledge that I take with me everywhere I go. In every gym prior - I was just shown what the workout was for the session and followed along, never getting educated about how to continue getting stronger (by progressively and *intentionally* increasing weights over time) nor was I given the training needed to properly execute certain movements for my body.In addition - have gone through many seasons of back pain that started just prior to joining Strength Ratio and I have successfully navigated those flare ups, now no longer afraid of that pain and knowing I can continue (and should continue) to move through some of that pain, thanks to their guidance and support.Joining this Strength Ratio totally changed the way I think about exercise (in the best way!) showed me that positive experiences are possible from a fitness community (something I had no experienced in the past) and equipped me with sustainable training practices that will keep me moving and healthy for the rest of my life.If you're looking for a place to get strong, find a community of people who will celebrate and support you, and learn how to make movement something that you can do in all seasons of life - I'd recommend stopping by Strength Ratio!

Convenient location, clean facility, high-quality equipment - check, check, check. It's the coaches and the behaviors they model that truly light up this place. They are relentless students of the science of training and personal interaction. While customized programming is available, the group programming is modified real-time to best match individual needs. The resulting community of athletes is welcoming, encouraging, and downright enjoyable. That you'll make progress toward your fitness goals is a foregone conclusion... stick around and you'll find yourself also becoming an even better human being.

I joined Strength Ratio back in November to work on my weight lifting and power. I knew Becca previously and had worked with her doing some online coaching when I was living away from Asheville and abroad. She is compassionate, focused, organized and really works with you to maximize your programing. When I moved to Asheville full-time, i knew I was ready to join the gym. I got so much more than I knew! Courtney got me settled and feeling comfortable during my trial period- which totally rocks. They let you try all the facilities and classes for a month for a flat rate of 50$.... any class, as many as you want. This really let me choose the schedule and programing that would work the best for me. I started with just the conditioning class two times a week. Over the next two months, I started the weightlifting and started coming three times a week. The programming aside, the community of the gym is the best part. From 6 am class positive energy, to full gym Saturday camaraderie, the people make the gym! Starting with the spread of covid-19, the Strength Ratio community did not stop, the gym leaned in. Strength Ratio checked out weights and has offered free programmed at home workouts. They send fun challenges each week, and weekly update emails. They hold zoom socials to keep nurturing the community that they built in the gym. I can't recommend Strength Ratio enough.

THE best gym experience I've had in my 20-year training career. I've been to big gym chains, and I've been to chalky basement black iron gyms. I've worked one-on-one with personal trainers, and even got certified myself a million years ago. I've trained with weights consistently despite many moves around the country, so I've seen lots of gyms.I'm a former competitive powerlifter, and I let myself get old, fat, and weak. Not anymore.Since joining Strength Ratio, I feel younger, faster, more vital, and I have gained community! I've not only regained a lot of my lost strength, but I've improved significantly in a lot of the weak points I've avoided training over the years. The setup of small group classes provides good individual attention and motivation to work hard, and the semi-unique configuration of (olympic) weightlifting followed by strength and conditioning is efficient and effective. You can even be in and out in 45-60 minutes and the coaches enforce getting you out on time. The gym is in a nice location with decent parking. Well-equipped, and class sizes are usually comfortable. The coaches are expert, and they take a highly individualized approach to each athlete based on training and injury history, life, stress, and limitations, and can make a shocking degree of accommodation when new injuries happen.I cannot recommend Strength Ratio more highly to anyone who wants to feel younger, stronger, faster, and more healthy!

This is one of the best gyms I’ve ever been to. My husband and I have been doing Olympic weightlifting together for almost 4 years now, and we’ve been to many gyms across the country. This gym has one of the strongest sense of community. Everyone is so inviting, friendly, and the coaches are so knowledgable at what they do. I will always recommend people to try out this gym.

I had been visiting different gyms, trying to find the right fit. I am relatively new to weight lifting. The coaches and staff at strength ratio are so welcoming and friendly and present a safe and fun environment. I have been learning so much and am stoked to have found such an awesome gym with such excellent coaching! You’ve got to try it!!
