The esthetic of Soulage is peaceful, verdant, intimate and highlights the character of Baltimore architecture. The yoga teachers are many of Baltimore’s best. The classes are amazingly creative and thorough, a result of the skilled teachers being given freedom and space to let their passions flourish, which is palpable for the students. Soulage’s simple, teacher centered model cultivates an authentic community dedicated to the practice of yoga.Everything is personal, nothing is corporate. Teachers are paid directly, so they are justly compensated. This also makes yoga more affordable for students. The teachers have freedom to do what they love and the students will grow in turn!Parking is free after 6pm and inexpensive prior. It’s location on Franklin St is one of few East to West thorough fares. People drive fast on it, so careful crossing to the studio.I love entering the cozy, arched- windows and plant filled room- it’s the third space I’ve craved following the pandemic.

Soulage is easily my favorite space in Baltimore. This old Bible house turned Yoga Studio is buzzing with good vibes. I’ve come to classes as a student and a teacher, and every experience has been uplifting. The community is so welcoming and wonderful- I’m excited to come back here as often as possible!

Soulage is a warm hug. You walk in to a beautiful lobby and are immediately put in a good vibe. To your right, you have a sitting space and clean bathrooms and changing rooms. To your left is the practice room.Inside the practice room there are plenty of cubbies for keeping your items - the cubbies are out of the way of the practice space but in eye sight if you’re worried about that sort of thing. The practice space itself is stunning. There is a mirror, exposed brick, and plenty of plants that back up to a beautiful arched window - the architecture is stunning in here. My first time at Soulage was on a snowy day and it was magical. My teacher was Liz, and she was incredible. She made sure everyone felt welcomed and safe. The class was so good - an extended slow flow for all levels. She offered incredible hands on assists. She also has such a poetic way with words that invoke emotions at the end of class. When you shed a tear, that’s when you know it was a good class. 🙂I would recommend this space to any practitioner of all levels. There are plenty of classes on the schedule, so you are bound to find something you will like!!

If I could give Soulage 10 stars I would... wow just WOW. When I arrived, I was greeted by the owner, Elizabeth, who gave me a tour of the space. The healing energy that she and her husband have captivated is absolutely incredible. The space is full of both history and life, bringing in beautifully salvaged pieces from Historic Baltimore. They truly paid attention to every small detail.I was at Soulage for the Healing Movement and Meditation class on Friday's at 11am guided by Elizabeth. Elizabeth has created a safe space where vulnerability and authenticity is encouraged. Not only was safe, healing movement incorporated, but also breath, sound, vibration, and myofascial release. Elizabeth also promoted a space where you were encouraged to find your comfortability by getting uncomfortable leaving you feeling extremely blissed out and brave by the end of class. She thoroughly explained each movement, pose, and the reason for doing everything we did. If you are looking for a yoga class to heal from the inside out, Soulage is the way to go.After class, Soulage provided all natural infused tea from Sweet Tea & Cornbread due to it being "First Friday." This was the exact refreshing feeling that was needed after releasing what no longer served us during class. Like I said, every detail was thoroughly thought out by Elizabeth. I could not have had a better experience at Soulage.Parking was super easy right across the street for only $0.50/hour. I loved that they provided a video ahead of time on their Instagram page to show you how to access their studio! Such a great idea.

Soulage is a fresh unique space and much welcomed in the Baltimore scene for movement practices. The variety of practitioners and offerings keep me coming back week after week. Along with yoga, I have taken various other movement classes that get my heart rate up and mediation classes leave me feel grounded. The community is diverse and welcoming. Looking forward to trying more of the workshops as they come along! Thank you Soulage, Baltimore needs you.

I love Elizabeth and have been taking classes with her for years starting with her early at Charm City yoga through successor studio Yoga Works. She is the most generous , warm and professional yoga instructor I have had the pleasure of knowing... Her privates which I have done for years are singularly the best-no one is even close to Elizabeth. Very creative individualized flows to delight, relax and wring you into submission…Amazing versatility. The new studio is wonderful. Come see it for yourself.

Soulage is such an amazing yoga studio! It's beautiful, airy, and very welcoming. I've used the space to host the Baltimore Women's Circle several times and have had a great experience teaching in the space and working with Elizabeth. She has created something truly special and is offering classes you don't see at other studios. Thank you!

What can I say about Soulage.. Finally a safe space for us to come and practice the path of yoga. As a woman of color who is a yoga teacher, I was very leery about this space but as soon as I stepped in all that went away. I felt this is a place that I can help cultivate calmness and relaxation with my restorative class. All the other teachers are very aware an awesome when it comes to creating spaces for their own class. Thank you soulage for thinking about us and other true yoga teachers.
