The FAU Recreation and Fitness Center, located at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, offers a comprehensive fitness experience with modern facilities. It features three full-size indoor basketball courts, a variety of cardio machines, free weights, barbells, and other gym equipment. The center also includes a well-maintained locker room with access to a swimming pool. While the gym has received praise for cleanliness and the variety of workout options, it faces criticism regarding weekend hours and equipment availability.
Though free for students and affordable for alumni or faculty, some users find the weekend hours restrictive and complain about equipment disorganization and overcrowding. Nonetheless, the gym’s diverse workout offerings ensure a challenging fitness routine for many members.

Gym opens too late on weekends so it is unavailable for students who work, also during the summer you can’t use the gym unless you are in classes for that specific term.

Gym doesnt open until 12 on sundays and closed all day on game days. Students have to work and for some the only time they can go is early in the morning.

Great rec center. Has 3 full Size indoor basketball courts, a lot of cardio machines, a variety of free weights, barbells, and machines. Also, the locker room is better than most gyms and it leads to a swimming pool. Free for students and very cheap for recent alumni or faculty & staff! Highly recommend!

I really like the facility but they don’t open early enough for me to work out and get to class by 8. Also the weights are never organized and you have to hunt for everything.

All workouts are great. It’s different and challenging every time you go. Excellent way to turn off your brain from all the stress outside the studio doors.

Always packed, it needs double the amount of equipment to be able to get a workout in without having to wait on people. Squat racks are always full, dumbells and benches always used and they run out of cleaning wipes. The student workers there only walk around and stare at you while you workout

I’m convinced the person that runs this gym is doing everything he can to get fired. By far the most unreliable, nonsensical, incompetent staff of the university. Nearly every time I’m here I see something that’s faulty by the direction of the directors and associate director.

I've work out at the recreation center and i Did boxing training with Paul "Rocko" Cecere and i've made Boxing videos with him. Paul's Major is Exercise Science & Health Promotion and His Fitness Philosophy is Exercise is a way to stimulate all aspects of life. Being healthy is achieving balance mentally, physically, and spiritually. Exercise should give satisfaction, make life easier, and give relief from the everyday obstacles that are placed in front of you.
