This is such an amazing gem in the south suburbs. I first came here 5 years ago briefly then moved away. I just joined again and they not only remembered me but made me feel so welcomed. This place has the special skill of making you feel like a friend from the moment you walk in the door. The professors are amazing and help each person individually as needed with in the class.

If there were a bjj club with a better value, I would already be going to it.Professor Gideon is not trying to run a club because he just really loves the sport; he has been professionally immersed in fighting arts for DECADES. Fighting, coaching and cornering. No wishful thinking. No maybes. This is his life, and he knows what works. He and Professor Amanda provide a warm, welcoming, and flexible training culture to match one's needs for competition, practical self defense or hobby.

The is a great place to train! I have been in an out of training due to work relocations and the best part of this gym are the community. Higher Ranks are more than happy to spar with you and don’t use that time to just beat you up for the sake of beating you up.This gym is also focused on realistic Jujitsu training. Some gyms I’ve gone too a very clearly competition based Jujitsu which is fine but I personally think there is a lot of value to be focusing on competitions when you have come coming up but also being aware of real life scenarios. Check it out if you are interested you will love it here.

My son has been enrolled at Gladiador Jiu Jitsu for over a year, and the experience has been remarkable. Since the moment we walked in to observe an initial class, we quickly found that the environment was amazing and the instructors were excellent and very committed to helping new students feel welcome and get involved in hands on learning right away. My son walked out completely hooked after doing his first arm bar during his first class. We also learned that the owners, Gideon and Amanda have truly created an unbelievable team and family environment that’s demonstrates their passion for martial arts and commitment to their membership. You will never meet two business owners who truly care about each and every student and are so dedicated to making the experience at their academy so beneficial for new and aspiring martial artists. Definitely recommend you check this out.

It was one of the best decisions of my life to join this gym. I had been a member of a local MMA gym where I was unsatisfied with the quality of the coaching and was looking for a switch. I had never done Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and was very curious of how it compared to Hapkido and Muay Thai, the two martial arts I had a background in. Here I am 2 years later and I will never look back. One of my only regrets in life is not doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu sooner. It is so fun and there is always something new to learn. Professor Gideon, who is a former UFC fighter and his wife, Profesora Amanda, who is also a former professional fighter seamlessly mix their official education in combat sports with their first hand experience. You are really learning from people who have walked the walk and talked the talk. Although there are members of our team who compete (and do very well) Professor and Profesora remind us that the heart of what we do is self defense and many of us are just here for fun and to improve our health fitness. BONUS! The team here treats you like family. The culture here is fantastic and that is a testament to the leadership of Professor Gideon and Profesora Amanda. BOTTOM LINE: If you have been thinking of checking this place out, stop reading my review and get over here!! I promise you you will not regret it.

This is a great place to train for practitioners of every age and skill level. Tons of mat space, it's clean & promotes an overall fun (and safe) learning environment. Professor Gideon is dedicated to his students and provides times before and after class to practice your technique, in addition to being extremely personable and helpful during classes.

We came here because of the Google reviews and never have been disappointed. As a parent you always try your best for your kids, that's why it so important when somebody try their best for your child too! Both Professor Gideon and Coach Amanda are passionate about what they do and Jiu-Jitsu for them is more then just a martial art and their attitude to the students is exceptional! Highly recommend!!!

My daughter has been with Professor Gideon for almost 4 yrs and we couldn't be more pleased. Jujitsu is something she started at 5 and has kept with all this time. She loves it. It is rare you find something at a young age that your child sticks with. I am sure a lot of it has to do with Professor Gideon and the way he coaches the kids. Can't say enough great things about him. We travel over 20 miles 3 times a week to stay with him.

My family looked for a martial art school for my 5 year old daughter a year ago and we found this Brazilian jujitsu/kick boxing school. I was surprised of how my daughter was absorbing Brazilian jujitsu knowledge and skills. She was enjoying so much so my wife and I decided to try it out for a free month. Now my whole family are training in this great dojo with an amazing group of people. Needless to say, how great the professor and coach are. You have to come and experience it yourself.

I was not an experienced martial artist before training with Professor Gideon, but I had previous experience with other local martial arts schools with similar programs, but I never appreciated the art of Jiu Jitsu until I came here. You are learning the art from an excellent teacher who is credible and experienced in the arts he teaches, and the students are very respectful and helpful to those who are just starting out, but also push those who are more experienced to be the best they can be. The schedule is great because everyday there is class and, whether you work mornings or nights you can atleast attend 2 classes a week. All in all it's a great value, family friendly, a great place for self defense, competition, and just to stay active.
