In a year the BAC team has done nothing for members and refuses to update us with any substantive information. I mostly used the club for tennis because of its convenient location - though the tennis accommodations were underwhelming to begin withThe lack of communication and overall unwillingness to even test reopening strategies is extremely disappointing. I will find somewhere else to play, and now that I have a home gym I will never be back.

RE-OPEN! You've had all this time to come up with a safe, effective plan to re-open with limited capacity (even do online bookings!) and sanitation stations. But instead, you cut your community off from a healthy outlet. You will never again see my business!

Great location, plenty of equipment. Friendly and helpful staff. It has classes, a pool, personal trainers and as many other extra benefits as one could hope for (to include child care). I doubt there's a better gym in the Boston Area. Don't normally rate places, but they had an oddly low rating and felt compelled to speak up for them.

Great gym. Has it all. Pool, Jacuzzi, Yoga/Dance/Exercise Classes, Great equipment, Personalized training, on site physical therapy, massage, chiropractor and a hair salon. Childcare available. Locker room and showers are very clean. Steam room, and Sauna. Front desk staff is great. Towel service. Given all of this, you can’t beat the price $79/mth.

The front desk staff are really friendly, there's a variety of equipment and classes, and there's a pool. Definitely no shortage of barbells which is nice. But that's where the benefits end. I'm paying $90/mo to deal with one leg press, people who don't rerack and leave 90lb of plates loaded on the bench, and it looks like a lot of the equipment hasn't been replaced since this place opened. WiFi is spotty at best, showers are gross and old. Tried finding a bar pad for hip thrusts and the only one was old, broken, and just as effective as wrapping a towel around the bar (which I did instead).Outside of equipment, the parking lot is riddled with pot holes, the hours are mediocre at best, and guest passes for members are $20.It has a decent amount of equipment for sure but I've been a member of nicer gyms that cost half this. You're really only paying for location.

Was called racial slur my first week there. It seems like an old boys club, with lots of townie old men. Small section with gym equipment but I was told it's expanding soon. I'm not sure how long I will remain a member.Edit: continued membership, haven't had any problems since. I hope it was an isolated incidence. Most other people have been friendly. Rich is super welcoming and the front desk staff are great. The weight section was expanded to a large room with much more space, while keeping the old area as well.

Three stars only due to the personal trainers, boot camps, and cleaning staff. Trainers and bootcamps are great. The equipment is constantly broken with a 2 week turn around window. Gym is dated. No real push to invest in a gym overhaul. They have been working on this new functional room.. kind of like a crossfit area for months and months. I was able to get a peak inside and they are no where near done. This gym is situated perfectly in Southie with new young residents. Its a shame. This facility could be amazing if they would just invest and give the staff more to work with. Should I stay in southie for another year or so I will prob look for a better spot.

Great huge gym and good customer service. Staff gave me a good tour around the facilities. I was impressed with its offerings. However, I thought is was really odd that I didn't see a single person of color (including Asian descent) in any of their comprehensive facilities for the 1.5 hours I stayed at the gym in the evening. Kinda weird.

Just moved to Boston this year, and I love this gym. So many options for sports, cardio, and strength training, you cannot get bored -- and the staff are beyond helpful. There's even a sports bar, open to the public and perfect for hanging out after your workout. Plus, the membership is awesome and diverse - all ages and fitness levels will feel comfortable here. That said, it's definitely a no-frills experience. If you want lattes or cucumber water, you'll need to bring them yourself. Or you may want to try the much fancier spots downtown, like Equinox. But for those who just like to sweat and have fun? This place is awesome.

The price was high, but I was willing to bite the bullet because they do have a lot of options instead of just weights and/or cardio. But they would not cancel my membership without a specific form and charged me for a whole month after I moved out of Boston, even though I reached out over a week before my membership ended. Very poor final impression of what previously would have been a decent experience.
