I like that it's a more intimate setting than going to a large gym and the fact that I have a plan going into the workout. Matt and the other coaches are great to check in on form and help set realistic goals as you move through your plan. It’s also rare that you wait for equipment which is huge.

I love the diversity of people and personalities Ethos attracts – it’s remarkable! There is a deep sense of shared respect in the gym that I truly appreciate. I also love howclean and organized everyone keeps the space. I’ve had great results with the custom programming Ethos provides for each member, and the TeamBuildr app helps me see my program and progress all in one place. Absolutely love it!

I started working out at Ethos prior to getting married. My programs were geared towards getting lean and losing weight. They were functional, challenging and I was ready for my wedding 6 months later. They have top of the line equipment and the trainers are wonderful. It’s a great spot to work out! Whatever yours goals are, bring it to the team there, they can help!

SUMMARYI’ve been going to Ethos Fitness + Performance for the past eight months, training one-on-one with Anthony, and my experience has been nothing short of exceptional. I normally don’t write reviews, but I felt compelled to do so given the outstanding experience I have with them. The staff and facilities are top notch, and I highly recommend their services to anyone looking to achieve their fitness goals.--BACKGROUNDMy search for personal training began when post-COVID, I decided I needed to become more serious with building habits to support a healthier lifestyle; working from home had detrimental impacts to my posture.Options for personal training in Boston, particularly in the South End, left me wanting, especially from commercial gyms. Either the facilities felt cramped, or services provided weren’t exactly what I was looking for.Ethos was the perfect fit for what I was searching for.--FACILITIESThe training area is very spacious and open. There are large glass windows throughout the facility that let in a lot of natural light. This is a far departure from other workout areas that feel claustrophobic. The space is spotless and the same is true for the bathrooms. The equipment is new or very well maintained, and they have a variety of options, from the standard: kettlebells, dumbbells, barbells, cable machines, etc., to the niche: safety squat bars and grip bars. There’s a lack of cardio equipment (a stationary bike or two), but quite frankly, with the training programs they offer, there really isn’t much of a need for them. For those that need it, there’s a variety of parking options available. Make sure to check their website for more information at risk of getting towed.--TRAININGThey offer various training programs: Personal, Semi-Private and Power hour Plus(+) [individual training]. Quite recently, they have begun offering training and coaching on Powerlifting. At one point, they did offer virtual training, but I’m not sure if that is still available.Because I’ve only done personal training with Anthony, I can only comment on how extraordinary and knowledge he is when it comes to coaching. His passion for fitness comes through and through, and with his guidance, he has been instrumental in helping me better my health and fitness goals. Not only does Anthony take into consideration past injuries and workout preferences when creating his workout plan, he is attentive and inquisitive during the workouts to best maximize the workout based on how you are feeling on the day.--COMMUNITYAs professional and focused it is during training, the staff does lighten the mood with friendly banter. Everyone at Ethos is incredibly friendly. You can certainly tell they strive to not only build a community within Ethos, but also to extend their community beyond their walls. They will often have fundraisers, collaborate with local businesses and host events to foster a sense of community.--Overall, I highly recommend Ethos Fitness + Performance to anyone.

I've been going to Ethos for personal training for the past 18 months, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. I've had sciatica and lower back pain for years due to herniated discs, and Ethos has been instrumental in helping me to strengthen my back and improve my overall health and fitness. Jess is my coach, and she's fantastic. She's been great in pushing me to meet my goals while also taking my previous health issues into consideration and modifying my workout plan as needed to ensure that I don't experience any pain or injuries. She provides the guidance and motivation I need to stay on track, and we have a lot of fun working together.Everyone at Ethos is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the facilities are top-notch. They have a lot of equipment, and everything is very new and clean. It's a great place to work out, and it's conveniently located in the South End. Recently, I started taking a small group training class with Anthony to learn more about Power Lifting, and it's been great to have a pro teach me how to safely become stronger in my squat, deadlift, and bench.Overall, I highly recommend Ethos to anyone who wants to improve their health or meet their fitness goals. The staff is fantastic, the facilities are great, and it's a welcoming and supportive environment. If you're looking for a great gym, Ethos is the place to be!

Ethos is truly an amazing gym. All the people there are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. The training programs are tailored to each person and they put so much effort into helping you out. They make it so that all you have to do is just show up. I have been working with Jon for over a year and couldn't recommend him more!

I‘ve been going to personal training here for about 1 year. The staff are really friendly, helpful and encouraging. My personal trainer, Anthony, always knows what exercises and reps/sets will help me achieve my goals. He is flexible with my schedule, which is always changing because I work in healthcare. He’s also flexible with my program, which encourages me to keep going. I’ve gotten so much stronger and always leave feeling good!

Ethos has changed my life. They have been a huge catalyst on my fitness journey. Since starting, I've learned how to lift weights/do exercises that I couldn't have ever imagined myself doing. I've lost a ton of weight and gained muscle. People close to me have commented on the changes in my Body and I keep telling them, "Ethos." My trainer is amazing, the staff are so helpful, and the space is wonderful (showers, deodorant, clean). This review probably makes this place sound extraordinary---well, it is.
