I did Stacey’s Progress Not Perfection nutrition program and it was, hands down, the best nutrition program I have done! I am also a coach in the fitness industry, and it’s extremely difficult to find fitness professionals that will tell you the truth and provide great results! Even though the program was online (I live in a different state than Stacey), Stacey made it very interactive and personal. Stacey genuinely cares about the individuals she works with! I got great results with her guidance and have not only learned strategies for myself but for my clients as well. Stacey is the real deal!

I started training with Stacey about 3 months ago. She has converted me in this short time from someone who really “didn’t like” strength training to a dedicated 3x per week participant in her small groups and personal 1:1 sessions. Stacey takes the time to understand what you need to be healthier and stronger overall, ensuring correct form, and adjusting for your needs. Her progress over perfection mantra creates an open environment for me to build the functional strength I need to stay healthy as I age. Her great sense of humor, lack of judgement, and approachability make something that was formerly quite intimidating to me so accessible. I am grateful that I made that first appointment and look forward to getting stronger every week with Stacey’s hands on guidance and support.

I started working with Stacey a little more than three months ago to help me get in shape for my wedding. I love her approach - I feel like I've (finally) found a workout routine that is sustainable and that I actually look forward to. Stacey keeps it fresh and challenging with workouts that change every so often, and she's taught me A LOT - from my posture and breathing to basic nutrition and how to put on muscle. Her personality + tunes are a plus. Highly recommend.

When I started working with Stacey over 1.5 years ago, I was running about 5 miles a day three times a week coupled with spin classes. I liked being active, but as a result of my workout routine, I suffered from lower back pain and flexibility issues. I stretched a bit before/after running, but recognized I needed strength training to replace the bulk of my cardio workouts, Stacey helped me realize "less is more" and that strength training for me was key to addressing some of my issues to help make me stronger. Now I do strength training two times a week, walk a ton, supplement with a few spin classes and feel much better overall. Her motto "progress not perfection" is positive, motivating and manageable.I enjoy the morning workouts in a group setting. There's a supportive atmosphere in the gym. Stacey creates an individualized exercise program that I do for five weeks. Workouts focus on warm ups, and exercises that help strengthen my core, upper body, lower body and glutes!! She also offers the flexibility to fine tune an exercise or try something new during that timeframe. She offers advice to help me make needed corrections in my form and models the correct way to do an exercise to maximize the impact. As a result, my flexibility has improved and I definitely am stronger. In addition, I participated in Stacey's nutrition program and as a result I lost 5 pounds. I learned to increase my daily intake of protein which helped combat hunger. I also became more disciplined about cooking protein in advance for the week so it was easy to come home from work and pop something in the microwave to warm. A benefit, I became more aware of the importance of the mix of protein, carbs and fat in my diet.I highly recommend Stacey.

I could probably write a book about my experience with Stacey and how she has changed my life. But I'll try to keep this review short as I think many of us share similar stories about being unhappy with our bodies, with our lives, coming up with a thousand excuses for why timing isn't good or how xx fitness or nutrition approach is impossible, etc. So here it is and it's pretty simple: STACEY HAS CHANGED MY LIFE. And it's not just that I've lost weight and feel good - it's been changed to the core of my being. I started with the online nutrition program in January of 2018 and then started group training in April. And, months later, the nutrition program is MY way of existing. It's not some gimmick; it makes sense and it's doable and I feel a thousand times better and it is easy for me. I just do it, end of story. It's the same with Stacey's fitness plans. But really what I want to emphasize is this: Stacey models the type of behavior, commitment, vulnerability, humor, joy, love, strength, and support I want in my life. Stacey changes lives and I'm not sure she even knows it; she just does her thing, every single day, with integrity and energy and authenticity. And she does this through her classes, through her online programs and through social media. If you're not sure if she's the coach for you, just start following her on IG or FB and you'll be hooked within days.To summarize (I tried to keep it short but clearly I have a lot to say), Stacey has empowered me to get over my bullsh*t, to take risks (I bought a house in 2018 on my own!), to be vulnerable, to be open about my mental health challenges, to get outside more, to strive for better, to forgive myself for not being perfect (I got over that really fast after meeting Stacey), to swear more, and to essentially live my own life. She has inspired me in ways that can never be measured and I will be grateful to her forever for what she brings to my life.

When I first found Stacey, I was on a mission to find a way to make fitness and exercise a part of my life. In college I was a D1 athlete, but I'm not what you're picturing - I was a coxswain for a Men's rowing team. Yes, that person that tells people what to do. I am maybe 100lbs soaking wet, and surprisingly shy and quite in a group. Once you get to know me, as Stacey has, however you would laugh at this description. After college, I went through a phase where I thought the solution was running. It was an easy and accessible way to workout - I could do it anywhere. But if I was being honest with myself, I've only ever run one 5k (with pressure from friends) and hated every minute of it.My boyfriend loves crossfit, but at my size and given what I knew from my college athlete days about how easy it is to get hurt, I knew that wasn't for me. I'd been to South Boston Yoga a few times before, and after reading some reviews on Yelp, decided to give Stacey's kettlebell strength class a try. Even in our early interactions, Stacey was the perfect balance of teaching and encouraging me to do more, while also sizing things down to my very beginner level. To this day, I can count on her to call me out when I'm taking things too easy, but also to know when I'm having an off day. She's always there to give me a modified version of the exercise when I'm struggling, using the wrong muscles, or just plan overthinking it. Not everyone is like me, but for me, Stacey also puts up with my millions of questions about how to do each exercise, and if I'm feeling a weird muscle, she takes the time to explain why.Over time I worked up the courage to ask about her Small Groups coaching and I only wish I'd done it sooner! I now train with Stacey and a bunch of newfound friends every Thursday morning. I love it! It's been over 2 years now (hard to believe!). I never have to think about, am I going to the gym? when? do I "feel like it"? And we have quite the community, which I feel is rare these days. We all have mornings we don't want to get up, but knowing that if I'm not there multiple people will reach out to me and ask why, combined with the energy of everyone once you're there, really does make it easier. We also buy packs of sessions and there's a (friendly) 24hr cancellation policy - these may seem simple, but they are enough accountability that it's much easier to show up each week. Plus, I always feel like my mornings are off to a better start on Thursdays when I see Stacey. If you told me two years ago, that any of these things were true, I would have laughed at you in utter disbelief, but now they all are:- I've done a completely unassisted chin-up- I have deadlifted over 100lbs- I own a kettlebell and love it- I've been to see Stacey every week unless I'm traveling or sick- I no longer have regular headaches / body-aches, and the rare occasion that I do, I know what I can do about themFor all these reasons (and many more), if you're on the fence about working with Stacey, give it a try - I promise you won't regret it. Start with a class, or meet her for a consultation. I'm sure you'll love her as much as we do!

Thank you, Stacey, for nearly 11 years of training, nutrition coaching, support, and true friendship.I came to you having never used weights much less strength trained. I was just shy of a year out of rehab and scared to death about living life without my "crutches" and especially about working out despite being a varsity athlete in college. In a way that only you can, you were understanding, supportive, tough when you needed to be (pretty much every freaking workout!!), dedicated, and funny as hell! You always made me laugh; still do.In the time you've trained me I've gone from 217 pounds to a record low, as of yesterday, of 166 pounds. My body fat % has only been lower in college. I'm able to do anything you ask me to with a bar and weight plates, dumbbells, kettle bells, ropes, and even crank out 10-13 pull-ups.Your positive attitude towards life, even in the face of adversity, dedication to your clients (especially women), devotion to nutrition, excellence in postpartum advice/guidance, development of Smart Strength, countless entries into your blog where you open up your most intimate details of your life in the hopes that you may help even just one person, all combine to make YOU who you are. You've grown your business from nothing to a multifaceted business model that all revolves around helping another human. You are truly an inspiration to me and often times I recall some of your words of wisdom or tough love commentary to get me through a situation. I think all of your clients can relate to what I've said. You're consistent and unyielding in your determination to help others have a great life. All while being an incredible mother to Julia & Eva, wife to Anthony, and mom to your fur baby Tater.I'll miss my training sessions both with you as well as your AMAZING client base more than I can possibly express through words. You've assembled an amazing tribe. I hope to make some surprise visits to class when I'm able to get back to Boston. Until then I'll be sure to sign up for your Smart Strength program that I'll be able to do on my own on Martha's Vineyard.Thank you, truly, for everything.😊💛☀️🙏

Stacey has taught me so much! Her training is focused on making sure you’re doing the exercises correctly to avoid injury, as well as most efficiently so you’re not wasting any time or energy. I’ve never once felt injured after leaving her studio - she has actually troubleshooted various injuries I’ve had outside of the gym and worked correcting exercises into my program. She considers the whole picture, whether it’s breathing, self-myofascial release, nutrition, anything that makes your body feel good. You can tell it’s really important to Stacey that you understand what you’re doing and why. I was never into strength training before kids but now I love it and wish I had started with Stacey sooner.

Stacey is the best trainer I've ever worked with. She's not just making you work hard -- she's making you work smart. Her plans are personalized to your weaknesses and strengths. She motivates you to do your best. Each week, she pushes you to lift a little more, or make the moves a little bit harder. I highly recommend her small group training. Paired with her larger group classes, I feel stronger and better than ever. I'm so glad I found her!
