This is a fantastic gym with tremendous and attentive ownership. Rich is consistently requesting feedback from the patrons and actually implements the suggestions. The fact that he's trying to keep his patrons safe as well as healthy is just a cherry on top. If you're in the area and need a gym, you should give this location a try.

Extremely disappointing, unethical leadership which unfortunately trickles down to various employees. The owners, who also manage the 1346 West Devon location, are typical of the contemporary hyper partisan type, or at least it would appear so based on behavior. The following are indicative examples;-Regardless of local, state or federal Covid (and related masking) laws, the owners and many employees take joy and pride in ruthlessly exercising needless authority. Logic, current scientific knowledge (which is always a work in progress), common sense, and rationality are irrelevant. What is relevant are their rules as they deem fit and boy you better listen! They may long be one of the last gyms in the city requiring masks and tests, with zero basis, but you better believe their self righteous high horse and the control it affords them is what's best for you! Oh wait, there is a basis...-The owners have numerous times engaged in blatant, unequivocally clear instances of lying. They have clearly expressed via their actions they have zero problem trampling over others rights, well being, and the truth, in order to facilitate the outcome they deem best for themselves. And best for you, don't forget! They're just that awesome, because the news told them so.-Segueing from above, employees, those they hire to represent themselves, their company, and their "values", have engaged in the same. Of note, one of their employees, Adrian Aguilar, has not only engaged in defamatory harassment of gym members, he, in his role as a personal trainer, lied to all current and former clients (which, of course, the owners knew about). He marketed himself as ACE certified when that is simply false. He is not, and has not been for a very long time.If you in any way are perceived to be anything other than adherent to the self righteous, power hungry, superior world view described above, look elsewhere. There are many gyms who truly accept anyone and everyone as they are, while simultaneously engaging in rational, professional business practices.(Trust the one star reviews below. They have every reason and right to be upset).

I am from out of state and was walking into this location for the second day in a row and was asked to leave because I did not have proof of a vaccine card. I was really angry that the first day I worked out there which was yesterday June 1st from 11am to 12pm NONE of the staff approached me to ask me where my vaccine card was. The state where I am from California does NOT have a vaccine mandate and neither does the city of Chicago I was VERY upset for the owner asking me to leave. It's a very personal choice and question to ask which I don't believe I should be inclined to share in order to workout at a gym.

Was traveling through Chicago and decided to drop-in to do a workout. Manager was extremely courteous and helpful. Facilities were top notch and clean. Everyone wearing masks! Overall great experience and super glad I decided to stop by. Will visit again!

This is honestly one of the cleanest and most ego-free gyms I've ever been to. The staff is very responsive both in person as well as via email and the machines are in great shape. Lucky to have this gym available 24/7 around the corner from me.

I was near this location, visiting for the week and looked forward checking out this gym to get my workouts in. There is a good variety of equipment and while the space is quiet small, the layout is fairy intuitive with enough space to do what you need to do. The facility is spotlessly clean and well-kept up.I was initially disappointed to not be able to get into the gym with my fob right away, as you need to email your COVID vaccine card ahead of time but they responded promptly and activated my card to get my workouts started. Kudos for the responsive staff!

I moved to the area and transferred to this location. It’s a really well kept facility, and it has a very chill environment. Club members and management are really respectful. It’s very spacious with a functional training area that has all types of equipment and a wide variety of cardio machines. It’s nice to know that management takes pride in their gym because it certainly shows.

I've recently rejoined the gym after the pandemic so this will be my second year with AF. I've attended both AF on Devon & Broadway, both owned by Rick. This review focuses on the Broadway location but also extends to the Devon location as well by nature of having the same staff. Both gyms have ample equipment, are clean, have cleaning supplies stocked, and are diligent with masking & proof of vaccine. They maintain the upkeep of new equipment purchases annually to ensure everything is in good condition. The Broadway location is more recently opened, & therefore newer than the Devon location, but both are equally nice. Parking is free (with sticker) & easily accessible.I've recently started training with Cortney who is great. Overall, I've always found Rick hires highly competent staff who are friendly & willing to help. They don't have much staff turnover. Therefore you really get to know them better & feel more like being part of a community than at big box gyms. Rick & Dan (manager) are both highly attentive to the gym in general which is why I think it is always so clean & in good condition. They really value the quality of the gym & experience of its members. The area where you leave your belongings (coats, outside shoes, etc) is in clear view & theft has never been an issue.I've never used the showers, but bathroom facilities are clean.Would recommend this gym & the Devon gym to anyone & everyone looking for an alternative to big box gyms.

I’ve been a member for 6 months now and I love it. There is free parking for members. The gym has never been dirty — even the bathrooms are pretty spotless! I visited a couple different gyms before deciding to stick with Anytime. I find that at other gyms, there is a bit of a competitive vibe. As a younger woman, I don’t like feeling “on display” at a gym, and I have never felt that here. I think it has to do with the way the space is designed. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it’s there! The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. Even the decals on the wall at this location are more realistic and encouraging, whereas other gyms can have more toxically positive phrases. While the equipment is somewhat limited (compared to other chain gyms), I have never had an issue where I couldn’t use the equipment I wanted.
