24 Hour Fitness in Chula Vista offers basic gym amenities and a variety of workout zones. The spacious setting and diversity in equipment cater to various fitness needs, from weight training to yoga. This gym emphasizes a straightforward workout environment with a commitment to functionality over aesthetics.
While the gym operates under extended hours, the name '24 Hour Fitness' may be misleading as it isn't open around the clock. Members have raised significant concerns about the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility, including outdated equipment and insufficient hygiene standards in locker rooms. Management seems to lack responsiveness to these issues, creating a less than welcoming experience for some patrons.

Hours of gym operation are so bad, why is it even called 24 hours…. Also have had very bad experiences with front desk staff, asked to have a locker unlocked and seemed like I had to beg him to do his job

The worst place to have exercise routine, very expensive, hide charges, the service to the people disgusting, aggressive, non professional. They no have any idea or manner to how make feel good at the members. cero recommended, careful.

I came to this club because the one on Amena is closed for painting this week. I use the sauna after my work out and sweat even more, I try to use the showers and the water is completely shut off. The Chula Vista location off of Broadway turned the water off and didn’t alert anybody about this. There was no signage alerting us that this would happen. Many women who attempted to shower and even use the restroom were unable to do so. Incredibly unprofessional to not put signs up and let people know that they would be shutting the water off for hours. When asked, the girl in the front said it would be “a couple more hours” I couldn’t even wash my hands, disgusting.

Staff is Very friendly. However the equipment is outdated and broken half the time I go. Firstaid kits are also outdated. I got a Metal splinter in one of my fingers And went to the front desk to get some tweezers and they did not have any. Since this splinter was right in the middle of my pointer finger I had to stop my workout Since I couldn't lift any weights. If This gym didn't have a pool and wasn't so close to my house I Would not get a Membership.

Please get a better AC or bigger and better ceiling fans. Don’t enjoy the fact that the entire building is stuffy and musty. The restrooms could also use an update.

I’ve been a member at this gym for years now. I have to say I’m dissatisfied with the way I am treated as a gym member here. As others have said, there is no effort made by employees to provide a welcoming environment to patrons. In addition, there is not enough effort placed in maintaining clean facilities - men’s restrooms being part of that mention, and also sauna which is not clean up to standards.

I'm looking for a gym, this one definitely is not going to be my choice. After reading the reviews, seems like management doesn't care.

Gym equipment is greasy, the women’s locker room is disgusting, and the whole place smelled foul. I bought a month membership but after 30 minutes of my workout on my first day I’d had enough. I had to harass the staff with in person visits and phone calls to cancel my membership and get a refund. No one really knows what’s going on - someone told me I’d be refunded for the full month minus a few bucks, while the manager told me I’d be refunded $30. In the end, I was only refunded $15. Very irritating!

This is not a terrible gym. It's not an awesome gym either. It does feel like the stuff is getting old that's in here but everything that I needed to work out was here for a good chest workout. I also did some yoga and some running. I think if the gym had some newer equipment or cleaned up a bit more it would probably get better reviews. Didn't have any issues with management or anything else like I've read here on some of the other reviews on overall I would definitely go back again.

I'm surprised this gym doesn't have better reviews. For starters, this is an Active 24 location. As soon as you enter the free weight room, it seems like the floor is hollow. Lol. Which is kind of odd. The plates to equipment ratio seems to be lagging. And when I wanted to do tricep extensions, on the cables, I couldn't find a straight-flat bar. But there's an abundant amount of equipment, for your training day needs. Now, after having gone to many others (especially the Super Sport in Escondido), I do love many things about this gym. I do like the "zoned" set up. Like there's an area for free weights and there's an area for machine weights. This place has character, which is what I love about it. It's humble. They play rap music overhead. Lol. Good for the motivation. And the fact that you could tell the equipment is a little rusted brings that extra sense of character to the place. This is a "gym," not a "sales pitch." If you know what I mean. It has that "Let's get to work feel." I'll be back.
