I was fortunate enough to meet Sensei Paul and a few of the fighters from Carnicella MMA back in 2017.…Paul and the guys invited me to come train at the gym and while I had an athletic background I had no martial arts training. Despite my initial apprehension, I figured why not give it a try.On my first day training there, all the members were super friendly and were willing to walk me through all the basics without overwhelming me. I felt very comfortable at the gym and right then and there I knew I had found my new hobby.Fast forward to now, 6 years later, and I consider Carnicella MMA my second home. My martial arts journey took me from being a guy who just trained casually for a good workout to someone who has fought in every different combat sport. Now I’ve got BJJ tournaments, MMA fights, kickboxing fights, and boxing fights all under my belt and I was equally prepared for each of themSensei Paul and the rest of his coaches are highly knowledgeable, professional, and personable. No matter your goals, whether it be getting in shape, learning some basic self defense, or fighting at the highest levels of combat sports, Sensei Paul and the coaches at Carnicella MMA can help you achieve them !

I used to train at this gym. It's not bad, but it's not too good either, the trainer seemed to me a weird. It's a bit dirty. People training there are quite nice but not all of them, one of them kicked my leg so much that I had to give up training.

Mma gym is on another level, the place you need to be if you want to get better/be a fighter

The review by "Jeffrey Hines" is both false and an unwarranted attack by someone who has no understanding of the sport or environment. I have been a proud member of Carnicella MMA for over a decade. The staff and instructors are both friendly and professional and more than willing to help you understand the technique and how it applies to both the sport and in real life. If you are willing to put the time and effort into learning real Mixed Martial Arts by some of the most talented athletes in the industry, this is the place for you. They will take the time, both during and after class to go over the techniques and will never let you down. I am not sure why "Jeffrey Hines" is making these statements but I can assure you it is not real by any stretch of the imagination. Take a look at all of the other reviews. All 5 stars. As Carnicella MMA deserves. The person calling himself "Jeffrey Hines" isn't even willing to use his real name to make these ludicrous and false accusations. Furthermore he has no other reviews. He is using this profile to hide behind a lie. Please do not take this review seriously.

Coach Paul Carnicella is one of the best & most knowledgeable coaches in martial arts. I have trained all over the country in many gyms & Coach Paul has one of the best environments for martial arts and could teach any skill level or experience level in this sport.

Sensei/Professor - Paul Carnicella - is a great instructor in the Art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Coming from the lineage of Master Edson Carvalho -He’s a dedicated Instructor, teaching kids, to adults it’s all love to Sensei he loves what he does you can see it in his ethics his teachings and his demeanor. I can go on n on on how great of an Academy it is but I would rather you see for yourself OSU-5 ⭐️

My son started here in 2009. Currently moved to this location since we moved to California. We revisited now and still a friendly non political environment with skilked Jiu-Jitsu instructors. Small academy but worth joining. Extremely dedicated students and leaders.

There are not many teachers to rival Sensei Carnicella. His students have fought in Belator and UFC as well as many local shows. This is a truly special school.

Sensi Paul Carnicella a great grappling jujitsu instructer i went there year ago one of my first mma schools his details in grappling is what makes the difference.

I started at Carnicella MMA after hearing raving reviews from local police officers who have trained with Sensi Paul. His knowledge of the art and ability to teach it is unparalleled to any other i have experienced. I trained out of state 2 years prior to joining Carnicella MMA and I feel my understanding and skill-set have tremendously increased under Sensi Paul more than any other. Set in schedule; may vary due to tournaments. His examples of tournament as well as real life scenarios in his teaching make it very easy to understand and apply in everyday life. You learn the art, respect, uniformity and comradery at this gym.I would send anyone who asks me about MMA or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu hear with out hesitation and with the highest recommendation.
