I started training here about three months ago. Everyone is very welcoming and willing to work. There has never been any awkwardness regarding my gender and the atmosphere is fantastic.

I really like the RAZR Fitness class. Matt is really great about tailoring the workouts so that no matter how in shape (or not) you are, you get a great workout. He is also really good about teaching us how to do the moves properly so that we don't get injured by doing it the wrong way or doing too much in one day. I also do the BJJ class and LOVE it. It is the best self-defense class I've found since it teaches you how to take down people who are bigger than you. Plus, its a lot of fun!

I have been part of the BVMMA family since 2007. That's exactly what it is; a family. Quality training with a focus on excellence combined with professionalism and a strong community that cares makes for a winning combination on the mats, in the cage, and in life. BVMMA makes stronger people, not just stronger athletes.

I started training at BVMMA my senior year at TAMU. Within the first few months I lost ~50 lbs and I raised my over all GPA a few points. MMA is a fun activity that anyone can do; personally I became more determined, learned to set goals for myself, and gained confidence I had previously lacked. BVMMA gave structure to my sloppy college lifestyle and introduced me to great group of training partners who quickly became my friends. At first I was nervous about the idea of fighting but the coaches allow you develop at your own pace while encouraging you expand your skill set. They offer a lot of classes, so if you're afraid punching/getting punched you can still wrestle and do Jujitsu. You do not need to be an athlete to join. Skills I learned transferred well to other athletic events. I gained coordination, strength, and over all athleticism. The coaches encourage you to compete in tournaments with other teams, this is a lot of fun. I went to a few tourneys and did well in all of them and took gold in the Texas Open for my division.I am now a personal trainer and I encourage all my clients to to do Jujitsu. A few of the benefits include developing strength, improving flexibility as well as cardio. It may just feel like you are having fun but in one hour you can burn over 800 calories.TL;DR Join BVMMA and get fit, meet cool people, and learn a unique skill set

I came to this gym looking for a crossfit type workout but what I found was much better. Their fitness class has full body strength training and cardio components like crossfit, but the trainers pay strict attention to form and the correct technique. They scale the workouts appropriately for the individual while still maintaining the group dynamic which really motivates me.I don't feel bad when I'm not as fast or strong as someone else because the positive feedback from the trainers and encouragement from the group. I have gained so much confidence in a short time, and felt so welcomed by the staff and the other patrons that I have started their Brazilian Juijitsu class and love it!

I'm not surprised at al that BVMMA was voted Best Martial Arts Gym in the Brazos Valley. Y'all have one of the best team/family environments that I've had the pleasure to experience. Congratulations and keep up the good work!

I joined BVMMA fresh out of the Marines in 2008 as a way to stay fit and compete. BVMMA has a welcoming environment, and there is a since of comradery present among those who train there equal to that which I was accustom to while serving. I expected to be around a bunch of meat-head fighters, but soon learned that this wasn't the case. The gym is ran and coached by strong level headed men of great moral character. The skills I have developed by training at BVMMA have been extremely beneficial in my new career as a police officer. I have since enrolled my eight year old daughter in the kids program and have been very pleased. Great Gym, Great Environment!

BVMMA is great! It has really helped my son pay more attention at home and especially at school. He's been going there since July and his grades have dramatically improved. His teacher has even taken the time to ask me if he has been doing anything different because she has noticed such an improvement. Signing my son up for BVMMA is by far the best thing I could have done to improve his self esteem and most definitely his education. Thank you so much BVMMA!!!

I found out about BVMMA through a friend. Everybody there is so nice and helpful. Starting with my first day there, people have always been willing to help. It is a little intimidating walking into a mma gym for the first time, but everybody was very welcoming. The coaches are great. They really know what they are talking about and actually do care about their students. They aren't just there to collect money and go home. They want to see everybody progress and get better. It's a big family that welcomes everybody.

This is the best gym in town bar none. You are getting trained by real pros here. Every exercise has a purpose and is focused. BVMMA has an encouraging atmosphere and everyone is trying to help everyone get better. I worked out at a few places in town but you're not going to find the variety you can here. The classes are fun, challenging, and have a practical use.
