Excluding the few inflated egos, Gilbert Melendez’s gym is an awesome place to train. You’ll get what you put in. Gilbert Melendez is an awesome fighter, and that’s why I chose his gym.

Top notch instruction from a group of super knowledgeable and friendly people. If you want to do Gi jujitsu, NoGi, MMA, wrestling, Muay Thai, boxing, it's all available. The facilities are good too - they have a full set of dumbbells, squat rack, bench, kettle bells and more. Lots of mat space plus a ring.

Some of the coolest most knowledgable people I've ever met! Also has the best coaches and teammates to work with. So happy to have found a gym that I can train at, but the best family out there.

El Niño is a great place to train. The coaches are always happy to help drill through and explain any concepts. This is the best place to train if you’re looking to develop your skills and knowledge with boxing, wrestling, and jiu jitsu. You seriously won’t find a better place with more dedicated coaches!! I drive over an hour each way to train and it’s so worth it.

My son has been going to El Niño gym since he was 4 years old, and is now 8. We love this gym! It has felt like home for us. Jiu jitsu has been a tremendous support for my son in helping with his social skills as well as his inner confidence. It has been so amazing that I have also started my 4 year old daughter in boxing and jiu jitsu. She is normally a shy and timid girl but this gym has helped to bring her inner personality out and not to mention it is such a great source of exercise in these times. The gym is very clean and they take the utmost pride in cleaning the mats before and after each class. I was initially worried about COVID exposure but after witnessing the way they take care of the gym and staff I have not a worry in the world. All this to say that I highly recommend this gym for all ages and genders. Best decision we have made as a family!

New location is awesome! Same great team from the original El Niño Training Center but with a fresh new location. Tons of safe parking and right next to the freeway. ENTC is definitely a competitor focused gym but the team is always willing to help out someone new. The community here is great and that’s what keeps me training.

Great training gym with friendly training partners. I came here to train as a visitor from overseas, and everyone there. Trainers, receptionist and students were all so welcoming of me. Will be returning one day

Have been a member here for a couple of years now having come from a boxing gym. Totally different vibe here - Real family feel and a great group of humans. No ego's and a real comradery within the gym to help each other improve, from Professionals you watch on TV down to the guys starting out.You are getting high level training in jiu jitsu - grappling / wrestling / boxing & muay thai. The new gym in SSF is great and the mats are disinfected after every class.Oh and you also have a former NFL physical therapist on site which is a bonus.

This is a true gem. To start this gym is very clean, safe, and everyone is very respectful. From a woman's perspective these are characteristics that are very important to me. Training here is incredible you will have the opportunity to train with world class grapplers, wrestlers, strikers, and fighters. No egos and everyone looks out for each other, we especially look out for beginners because we want to share the love for the sport. There are a lot of talented training partners (men and women) that can be controlled and trusted with solid technique, everyone is very friendly. Gilbert and Keri Melendez are the most down to earth and have a true love for martial arts and it shows in the way their gym is thriving, they have put a lot of thought in the structure of the classes and they invest their time with students. The vibe of the gym is all around very positive with a real sense of comradery and one that will nurture the next generation of martial artists. They have excellent kids classes too with experts in their fields and enough instructors to pay special attention and give feedback. If you are looking for a gym to start your journey, looking for a new one, or just in town for a visit I highly suggest trying out this gym.

I came here as a total beginner and was immediately hooked by the top notch instruction and easy going vibe. It's the best workout I've ever had and I learn new things every class. If you want to challenge yourself, get in shape, and learn how to fight all at the same time, I highly recommend trying it out! Don't be afraid of the intro classes... That is the gym's way to make sure you get off to a good start.
