I found this gym while visiting family back home, and I am so glad I joined! Great coaches across both Muay Thai and BJJ. Very approachable and fun coaches, who can teach some brand new or someone who has been at it a while. Beyond the great coaches, the fellow students are also incredible fun and helpful. I will definitely keep coming back!

My journey in Jiu-Jitsu began inauspiciously. After an event in my then professional career, I sat in my vehicle outside the gym at 47 years old, terrified. Will I embarrass myself? Will I be safe here? I found my way out of the car and into the gym. I was immediately welcomed by head instructor Dustin Hjelle and remain grateful for coach Lee Houle who got me through day one. A year has passed. In the meantime, I have had the pleasure of meeting and learning from Mr. Romero, Ms. Hjelle and Mr. Bakpayev. Drengr has now become our family gym. My son fell in love with Jiu-Jitsu and now competes. My daughter loves the Saturday morning and ever-expanding kid’s class. My partner and wife who talked me out of the car on day one is a member and would stress the strong female presence at the gym. If you find yourself curious about Jiu-Jitsu, but perhaps you feel too old, or too weak, or it’s a sport just for men… I encourage you to take that step out of your vehicle, through the front door and discover Drengr Jiu-Jitsu. You may just find a new home.

I love this sport, and a big part of it is because of the coaches and teammates at this gym. Positive atmosphere, and overall a great introduction into the world of grappling. Been here for two years and I can't see myself leaving.

Moved to the area after 4 years of training, and have been surprised to have found a hidden gem in the twin ports. Very helpful, and knowledgeable instruction. Perfectly suited for experienced practitioners looking for a challenge, and day one individuals. Highly recommend.

Best place in town from hobbyist to competitor. Safe training atmosphere with a focus on technical skill development that has been proven time and time again by the competitors in mma fights and grappling tournaments.

Drengr jiu jitsu has a great program for all ages and levels. I highly recommend the kids program. Coach Dusty is amazing with them and keeps it fun.

This is an awesome jiu jitsu school filled with world class instruction, great people, and good vibes. Dustin is welcoming and personable and all his students are friendly. Whether it’s nogi, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, kids martial arts classes, or kickboxing, Drengr Jiu Jitsu is the best martial arts school in Duluth hands down!

The coaches are amazing! And everyone who goes here is super welcoming, and nice! I felt welcome from the second I walked into the door, and now I have some of the best friends I’ve ever had. I highly recommend coming or dropping in here!!!

Drengr Jiu Jitsu is an amazing jiu jitsu gym. Dustin, his wife, and students welcomed us with nothing but hospitality and respect. Dustin’s class was technical, thought provoking, and energetic. The rolls with everyone were tough yet controlled and a great vibe. If you want nogi or gi jiu jitsu in Duluth, Drengr is the place to be.
