The trainer is amazing. She writes amazing workouts like no one I have ever met before. Her story is inspiring and she really cares about each any every client she is training. I came to the E3 community because of her and, I stayed because of the wonderful people I got to workout with daily. Everyone is so welcoming and encouraging and it was always so much fun.E3 offers multiple membership options. They offer class passes, "virtual class" memberships, and an all inclusive membership (virtual and in person classes plus child watch during certain camp times). Prices vary. I had an all inclusive membership. HAD is the key word.Unfortunately, I recently made the decision to cancel my membership at E3. Over the last several months class sizes have significantly decreased. This has led to a lot of afternoon class cancelations. If I didn't make it to 5:30am there was a good chance I wouldn't be able to get a workout at all so I made the very difficult decision to end my contract with E3. I just needed more consistency. At the start of the 2023 new year, due to construction on site, all in person classes were cancelled and members were left with only a virtual option (even though members were still being charged the "in person" rate). I was having to find my own space (in a 500 square foot top floor apartment) and my own equiptment, and with a dog who would jump around and bark like crazy any time I attempted to workout in my tiny space. Virtual workouts aren't an option for me. That is why I did not sign up for this membership option.During the second and third week of January it was announced that in person workouts were cancelled only I didn't know this was happening because I had been removed from the members facebook page where that information was being announced. When I brought it to the owner's attention that I was frustrated because I been removed from the group she tried to tell me that "someone" must have accidently removed me before the end of my contract and agreed to add me back in but she didn't understand why I would be so frustrated.I explained that my frustration was coming from the fact that I hadn't been able to work out with E3 in a month and that I was paying for a service I wasn't getting. On top of that, I was removed from the members page even though I was a paying member. Her response was that she didn't agree with me. She didn't consider these classes to be "virtual" because you could join the live classes with a live trainer at any of the class times. (I was a virtual teacher for a year. My kids came to live class with a live teacher and they were still considered virtual 🤔).She stated that it was my choice to not participate in the "live virtual" classes. Yes, it was my choice, because I am not going to be trying to move around in a tiny space, be jumping around on the top floor of an apartment, and subjecting my neighbors to a dog who would bark non-stop for the entire 45 minute class period. That doesn't change the fact that I was paying for a service I was not getting AND... I WASN'T EVEN ASKING FOR MY MONEY BACK. I WAS JUST EXPLAINING MY FRUSTRATIONS because she "couldn't understand why I was frustrated."I share this long story because this is a small, female, black owned business. I want so much for these ladies to succeed but, the owner didn't want to take any accountability for the lack of services provided. She was more concerned with "being right" rather than actually listening to my feedback. If you can't be "heard" as a member of the community then is it really a community that you want to be a part of?There are still plenty of members paying for membership services they are not receiving. I just feel as if this business is not doing right by them and I can no longer, in good conscience, suppport them.I want people to be aware of my experience and the repercussions I faced because I did say something. When I expressed my frustrations I was denied access to the group page and issued a refund for the month. Her way of silencing me. 🤷‍♀️
