I’ve been a member of the gym since the opening day. In the beginning it was amazing. Unfortunately as time has went on it has became EXTREMELY over crowded. As far as the equipment goes, it is all top notch and is probably the best in the area. My other issue is the cost. The price is a little outrageous especially considering how packed the gym is and the lacking of amenities. In my opinion, strength training and treadmills aren’t worth almost 50 bucks a month… but it is still better than PF.

This gym is full of juice heads on steroids but everyone is friendly and are there to workout and not socialize. I would just like to know where they get the juice though. I really appreciate the posing room. Overall Im very happy there.Edit: gonna have to downgrade this gym by one star. You guys got a great gym and vibe but ya’ll got to restock the bathroom with soap because there is none and my gym peeps are not able to wash their hands after they use the bathroom.

This is the nicest gym of which I’ve been a member. They have a ton of great equipment, including more specialized machines for both bodybuilding and powerlifting than you would expect to find at your average commercial gym.The community that works out at Gold’s Chapel Hill is both friendly and dedicated. I’m there most days of the week, and I see a large group of people who go very consistently and are clearly making great progress. Everyone I’ve talked to has been very nice. It is kept clean and well-air conditioned as well, which is a great plus. Also, the snacks at the front desk are very well curated. The staff are friendly and seem to always be at the gym—they’re working out if they aren’t at the desk, which might help explain why the equipment is always in great shape and why they always make great decisions on what machines to acquire.Membership pricing is competitive—their student rate (which I have) is cheaper than the equivalent rate at the only real local competitor, O2 Fitness. They also have 24-hour keycard access, which sets them apart positively from other options in the area.My only knock against this location is that they’re a bit limited by their square footage in terms of the spaces they can have in the gym. I think they’ve made the correct decision, which is to pack in as much actual lifting equipment as they can, sacrificing little-used areas like the dance/yoga studio to more power racks and leg machines. On the other hand, this means that their turf areas aren’t nearly as usable as they could be, so you’ll probably want to do your farmer walks somewhere else (or come when no one else is around, which might be a tall order). Maybe at some point they’ll manifest destiny more of the building, though that doesn’t seem imminently likely.I’ve never used the personal training, though my friends who have gave positive feedback. This is a franchise location, so you don’t have a national Gold’s membership, but you can still work out at any Gold’s location nationwide by filling out a card at check-in, so I’ve appreciated having good gym options when I’m out of town and in a city which still has a Gold’s. Sadly a lot of cities no longer have their Gold’s locations post-pandemic.TL,DR: It’s a great gym.

I've been a member of Gold's Gym for quite some time now, and overall, I've had a really positive experience. The equipment is top-notch, the classes are fantastic, and the atmosphere is motivating. The trainers are knowledgeable and always ready to assist, making my workouts effective and enjoyable. However, I have noticed a minor concern that I'd like to address. While the majority of the gym is kept immaculately clean, I've encountered a bit of an issue with the cleaning staff. Some of the cleaning personnel tend to be a little overzealous when tidying up while members are working out. It's great to have a clean environment, but there have been instances where they seem to be placing a "cynical" sign in front of members as they exercise. This can be a bit distracting and slightly off-putting.Keep up the good work, Gold's Gym!

Fantastic golds gym. I was impressed with the staff and the cleanliness of the gym. No accountability of the patrons though, people don’t clean up after themselves.
