Went there for a competition. An amazing facility. Complete with a shop for Gis, fighting apparel and accoutrements, a chiropractor, spa and obviously a place to train. The Gis are not specific to triangle BJJ so come one come all. The designer is on site and the Gis are great quality. I'm tall and thin, she found a Gi that fits perfectly for me.If I'm ever in this neck of the woods, I'd love to go to hop in and take a class or roll at open mat.

Awesome place! Family-like atmosphere. Diverse experience: BJJ, judo, wrestling. You choose what you want. If you got kids, the scheduling is perfect - kids classes are every day 5-6 followed by adult classes. Plus early morning classes for early birds. Plus noon adult classes every day. The most wholesome experience in the area.

Great academy. Great instructor.Update: My last review was unfair. I moved outside of NC 2 years ago and the distance has made me appreciate TJJ even more. This is an awesome place, not only because the classes are high quality, but because of the people. Everyone makes you feel welcome and you feel you are part of the team from day 1. This is not something you get in every bjj academy. One of the highlight of my trips to NC is training with this awesome group of individuals.

Super beginner-friendly place! We have zero martial arts experience, so it was very intimidating to get started (esp as a woman), but the culture at Triangle BJJ is very welcoming and helpful. And of course the classes are exciting! The 6:00 classes are more beginner level, in the 7:00 classes they still are careful to explain for newbies and help you, but it moves faster. They seem to be fine with people attending several times for free before you decide if you want to join or not. You don't have to buy a gi right away, either. They are happy to see you when you visit, but there wasn't any pressure or sales at all.

I love the Gi Fundamentals and Advanced Gi classes. I’m excited to start training some nogi this month as well. There’s also a wrestling class on Mondays, and Judo classes 2-3 days per week, both of which are awesome supplements to Jiu Jitsu. If you have time during the middle of any weekday, they have a 1-2 hour day class in addition to the regular evening schedule. Basically, you’re going to need to do a lot of laundry to keep up with the sheer volume of available grappling classes that you’re going to want to attend. The coaches are awesome - I have trouble deciding how to work my schedule around training with several of them because they all bring something cool and different to the table-- err, mat. The student population is also very friendly and approachable. Several of the upper belts (and experienced white belts) have been super helpful whenever I’ve had a question. It’s a great community, which is very important to me.If you live anywhere in or around Durham (I drive 30 min despite having closer options) and you’re interested in training BJJ, I recommend this place so hard!

Triangle Jiu Jitsu has been one of the friendliest facilities I have ever been to. The instructors have been wonderfully patient with both beginners and veterans alike. The atmosphere here has been amazing with instruction, level of intensity, and most of all the people. You get a wide range of hobby jiujitsu practitioners to people who are in it for the grind. Most gyms and especially schools are defined by their cliental, and I know that I am always safe when I drop in for a class. If you are in the area, please give Triangle Jiu Jitsu Academy a try!
