Great gym with an outdoor pool and all the amenities you need to get your workout on. Keep in mind most of the members are of college age.

Great place to workout if you can get a membership. Just don't go after work, unless you want a crowd. A 5th star for me would be kid care; but I'm being bais on that.

Great place to lift if you have a membership or know someone who has one. Only has two tennis courts but you can usually get on without a problem. Not too hard to find a basketball game to jump in to. There are a lot of cardio machines and two raquetball courts. The pool is nice but under renovation right now.

I have been using this gym since I was in nursing school at UT. I love it here, it has everything you would need, it's just a great little work out place. Not your typical gym because it's not a chain, it's a Rec center for affiliates. Don't expect things like sauna or daycare here.

Great rec facility, has everything you need. The staff isn't always the most knowledgeable, but they're mostly students. The facilities are in good condition, and the rates are cheap if you qualify for a membership

My wife and I moved to Med Center area and were checking out the fitness club options nearby. We first went to 2-hr fitness at Rice Village to see the facility only to be met by a mean lady at the front desk. Since my wife is a UT employee, we went to the UT Rec Center. We were pleasantly surprised to have a entirely opposite experience there. Embry explained to us the various membership options at the center. He was really nice and patient that we have decided to take the membership.

Great for students. Only crowded at rush hours, before 9 and after 5.
