Group classes are praised for variety and quality, making it easy to find a workout that suits your schedule. The gym also has personal training and towel service, which adds value, especially for members living nearby.

Equipment is adequate, however aging. Weights everywhere. Dumbells, plates everywhere. Multiple different plates of varying sizes not in the correct place make half your workout just trying to figure which plate Is what weight. At first I thought "what can you do, it's the people that use it." But then an employee came to "clean up", but then proceeded to put random plates and dumbells back in whatever order or place he felt like it, out of pure laziness. He seemed very disgruntled, and even made a gesture to the security camera out of complaint. When I attempted to tell him that just because the plates are the same size doesn't make them the same weight hence him putting back in the wrong place, he replied with "nah its not you, it's the whole gym." And then proceeded to point at every piece of broken equipment on his way out and say "i didnt break that." OH and he only "cleaned up" a tiny corner of the gym before walking out. Why does he work here?If the cleaninf staff spent half the time they spent complaining, on putting the proper equipment back in the right place, I can bet you everyone else in the gym would start to follow suit. They set the standard. And there is no standard to be found. At the price you're paying for a single location gym, the only thing that makes it worth it is the pool and sauna, and maybe location if you live in the nearby condos. If you don't care about those, then you're better off just looking elsewhere.Just to clarify thought, front desk staff is great. Friendly, always helpful.

Weight room is too crowded, especially after they took away a whole area for personal training (which is empty almost all the time). The swimming pool is definitely small, but if you swim and go to the classes regularly, it’s fairly priced, otherwise Club Metro is much better.

This gym has dropped from 3.5 to 2 stars. It would be very easy to fix, if they did the following:1. Clean more frequently both the gym floors and locker room2. They removed an entire area of the gym which we had access to - removing access to TRX, punching bags, box jumps, and more space for freestanding. They converted it to personal training. This was purely a money making change and reduces the value of the gym to members but came with no warning and no reduction in fees.3. Keeping treadmill machines working4. Increase sauna temperatureMaking simple changes and amending the space reduction would go a long way to improve the gym.

Too many people. They also closed a whole room for private lessons making already scarce real estate even less usable

Group classes at this gym are amazing. Everyday is a new workout and with a lot of choices at different timings! Their personal fitness training is also amazing. Extra discounts for Washington Boulevard people!

Kat at the front desk is really helpful and kind. This gym is totally worth for the monthly rate. I am so excited to try the classes and begin my training. Wooohoooo 🥳 …

I love it here. I been shopping around gyms in Jersey City for a minute and this is the one I settled on. Not sure what everyone else is going on about because it's been fine for me. I only regret that my schedule keeps me from working out here everyday. Maybe I've been lucky, but it's almost never packed here either.

DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM! THERE IS A BETTER GYM 10 MINUTES FROM THIS GYMl located near the mall. STUPID decision to cram all weights / equipment in one room while the other rooms are left open all the time. The front desk woman is rude and doesn't know how to do her job, gets easily flustered when you ask a question she does not know. Also, nobody RERACKS their weights creating chaos on the gym floor. NOBODY CLEANS UP EITHER - DISGUSTING GYMNOT WORTH THE PRICE WHEN THE OTHER GYM A FEW STEPS IN LOWER IN PRICE.STAY AWAY FROM THIS GYM!!

Do NOT waste your time and specially your money. Worse front desk service ever, they just want your money and never give you an answer. It is an expensive gym membership, you pay to basically get access to the pool (which is clean) but once you’re inside you have to share lines in the pool with someone else - so if you’re actually trying to learn you will get nowhere. The rest of the gym is just old equipment and the group classes are not fun at all. Some of them do not even have music. It’s like being on a gym class back in high school.

Gets the job done, staff is nice, bathrooms are pretty good and they have a steam room and sauna. Cardio room is great, but the weight room could be a little nicer and people leave weights all over the place. No hidden fees (unlike club metro) so it's worth it if you live in Newport.
