The gym equipment is so outdated, was very disappointed , you would as big as they are they could get some better equipment. They have plenty of cardio equipment so why not better gym and fitness equipment . I will say the restroom and locker area are clean

Me and my 3 kids (11, 8 and 5) joined to use their pools for the summer. The pools themselves were very clean, and there are always life support items and toys and such made available for everyone to use, which is great! However, the lifeguards and swim instructors are NOT very skilled in making everyone feel like they are welcome. I am a plus sized woman, myself, and on many occasions I find myself being glared at in an unsettling way that makes me feel as though I shouldn't be there, or don't have the same rights as anyone else to bring my kids to play. I spent the same amount of money as anyone else, and we don't bother anyone while being in the facility, yet we are made to feel like outcasts because of my looks. And my children have noticed and said things to me before as well. As far as a clean and tidy place to workout, this place is amazing! But, in terms of how certain staffembers treat and talk about members as if they're not sitting right there, is highly unprofessional and it makes people feel like they don't belong. Most of the staff is exceptional, but the lifeguards and swim instructors seem to be very judgemental and are very open about it. And yes, me and my children have noticed this, not only to us, but others as well.

I bring my toddler here so I can work out or even get some work done in the lounge. The staff at the gym - and the kid city drop in child care - have all been amazing. My husband loves GRIT class with Ashley!

Just wish they would keep their Facebook page consistent with current happenings. For instance, I went to go swim one morning and I called beforehand and they said the pool was open but when I got there it was closed. And then there was a note on the pool door saying it would open in half an hour. So I wait at the half an hour and then after half an hour they put another sign on the door saying that it would be an hour. And none of this was set on the Facebook website. It was a big inconvenience. Other than that it's a great club.

Be ready to pay a pricey membership fee and monthly fee only to go in to do your workout and be told you have to leave the room because a class is going on that has 3 people in it. Staff is not rude but clearly it’s just a job for them.

Fantastic old school fitness center that offers a wide variety of well-maintained facilities with a professional staff, including every kind of trainer you could want. My elderly mother loves the aquagym, my sister loves the spin classes and I am in the pool every day because I have a choice of outdoor and indoor pools! Clean and well ventilated, gorgeous showers and fluffy towels, friendly folks around the pool...exercise at Ft Sanders is a highlight of my day :-)

I have been a member for over ten years. My needs have changed but the facility has remained the same. Kid City has always been a big staple in my life. Excellent child care at Fort Sanders. I love the group fitness and all the machines. My kids enjoy the indoor and outdoor pools. Best fitness place in Knoxville!

I'm going to start this off with saying my three star rating is 100% attributable to a lack of variety and a lack of quantity of weightlifting equipment. The facility is clean, friendly staff and overall I would recommend it to people that want access to a wide variety of activities. All that said, I primarily use this facility for weightlifting. Deadlifting is so hit and miss at this facility. There is only one deadlift station and as you could imagine, it's tough to get a set in. I've started going to another gym in the area on deadlift day. There isn't any excuse for this. Deadlift stations cost less than a single piece of aerobic equipment and require zero maintenance. They could easily make room for one or even two additional deadlift stations with the available space. They also lack a proper set-up for seal rows. This is another inexpensive piece of equipment that takes up little room. I've suggested both of these multiple times through the anonymous feedback forms they have and have requested follow-up and provided my name, which is an option they provide. Nobody has ever followed up with me.For about 3 to 4 thousand dollars, this facility could have a weight lifting variety and quantity that would rival any other gym in the area. Until that point, if weightlifting is your primary focus, I would look elsewhere. If weightlifting isn't your primary focus, I highly recommend this facility.

It's a nice and clean facility, but it's kind of pricey. I don't like their hours though. It's good for morning people but I'm more of an evening person and so they don't open late in the evenings.
