Just another typical commercial style gym. Nothing special. Lacking personality like the people who works there.

So mad at myself for not coming here sooner! This gym has everything: Tanning beds, hydro massage, sauna, steam room, free lance weights, protein shake bar and the list goes on! The employees are super helpful + sweet. It is super affordable as well. Best gym in Lexington!

Love City Fitness. Like the way it is set up, like the location, very clean, & safe place for women. They have helpful employees, offer a diversity of classes & training opportunities. Cost is fair.

Best place around always cleaning and oiling equipment and if it goes down they fix em fast. They have every and anything you need to get in shape.I have been going since before they moved and I will never go to any other gym.

I wish I had updated pictures of this gym. Most of the pictures on this post are from their old location and it looks quite a bit different. The pros: it’s a very clean gym with a sleek look. It looks like an upscale, downtown gym but with a very affordable price. The group class room is available if you want a quiet space to train alone, but I prefer the vibe of being around a lot of people so I typically like to be out in the open space. There are tons of cardio and strength machines, and I’ve never had to wait for one to open up, even at high times.I’m a competitive powerlifter and I have *never* seen a commercial gym with an OPB until I came here. I wish there was more than one, but I may be the only one who is picky about that kind of thing! They do have various weightlifting bars as well. There are a lot of great features I personally don’t use, like saunas, showers, and tanning beds. They do have a vending machine for various pre and post workout drinks if you forget or run out of yours. The neutrals: They have a deadlift bar, but unfortunately I’ve seen multiple people use this bar as a weightlifting bar instead. It’s already looking beat up. Cerakote isn’t the best for high-volume use, but it does look super cool when it’s new and/or taken care of! I say this is neutral because it isn’t the owners’ fault that members aren’t taking care of their equipment, but unfortunately it has taken its toll on such a great bar.The negatives: There aren’t enough plates. Which… I kind of appreciate this because they have so many squat racks that if people are utilizing all of them, there aren’t enough plates to go around. EspecialIy change plates. I’ve only been able to find 3 2.5 pound plates in the entire gym, and there aren’t enough 5s for 2 benches and 5 squat racks (plus the rig in the group room), either. The benches are terrible. They’re those awful lifetime fitness benches with the fixed hooks that only work if you’re 6’6” or 5’0” I’ve come to expect this from commercial gyms, but this gym has so much top tier equipment I hope they’ll upgrade to decent benches at some point.Overall, if you join this gym you’re getting a great bang for your buck, especially if you’re looking for a generic gym with a few cool features.

This Gym is okay..... I'm disappointed cause I went to this gym when it was at its old location and I fell in love, great staff and overall good equipment. When I heard that City Fitness was moving to a new location I was very excited. When the new location was opened I was thoroughly impressed with the big spacious area and some new equipment, major upgrade from the old location. But as most shiny new things, after a few months it became dull. Equipment was showing its age... the old equipment needed major repairs/replacement.(still does!) Which makes it to where you have to use the new equipment and that next to impossible when the place is busy. Not to mention the new rooms in the gym with brand new equipment which is off limits unless you sign up(pay) for extra classes. And to top it off if you have 24 access, these new rooms are off limits after staffed hours which makes zero sense to me. I pay for a gym membership and dont get to use the new equipment that i was so excited for. The explanation I was given was that it was due to theft prevention, as if that's stopping someone from stealing or breaking any other peice of equipment. I can understand charging extra for the tanning or hydro massage but the gym equipment...come on. Plus if you like to deadlift.. well sorry the deadlift platform is pathetic and it sucks cause I love to deadlift. Overall all I wish this gym made a better effort to maintain its equipment and replace old equipment with upgrades. I would like to see the gym make all equipment available to those who have to come in after staffed hours, as some have to work late shifts or want to come in when it's not busy. I'm writing this to hopefully reach the owner cause this gym has potential to be the best gym in davidson county.
