I wandered into Metcon Long Beach (Formerly Crossfit Belmont Heights), unsure of my fitness goals and ambitions. However, shortly after, I was convinced I had found the right place. I was greeted by friendly staff and encouraged to talk to HR Carlos. Connor and Carlos ( Staff) allowed me to try out the class for that day. That same time, I witnessed the family environment coupled with challenging workouts. My classmates stepped through the door with a big smile and paired up with me. The instructor ( Chris) carefully demo each exercise and patiently correct my form to avoid injury.METCON is a great gym, and I encourage anyone interested in working out surrounded by good vibes and under the supervision of a coaches to come and check it out.

Dropped in with a large group and was amazed with the experience. First, all the members were so kind and welcoming. They made us feel right at home. Space was great and the coach was super helpful with scaling some of the movements. If you are looking for a home gym or a place to drop in, I would definitely check them out!

I scheduled a drop in on my work trip and the process was smooth and the workout was great. I arrived early and met the coach who was friendly and helped me get set up for the WOD. I also received some constructive form correction on one of the movements which helped. I will be returning when I am in town again.

I knew this was my gym the moment I saw their float in the Long Beach Pride Parade. Metcon Long Beach has become my fit family. Coach Amanda and Edmond are amazing. They will gently push you to be your best self and go out of their way to make new members feel included. As the kid who was always last when running the mile in middle school, could never do a push-up, and was scarred by the Presidential Fitness Test, I am amazed by how strong I’ve gotten and how much my endurance has grown. Edmond’s programming rocks. I just did 6 consecutive strict push-ups today for the first time ever in my life. The sense of community at this gym also got me through the dark days of quarantining and has continued to be the source of maintaining my mental health. I am truly grateful Metcon Long Beach.

I love this place! I joined four months ago because I wanted to build muscle, drop body fat, and learn proper weightlifting form for different movements. What I wasn't expecting is how much more motivated I would feel working towards my goals in community! This community is so kind, supportive, friendly, and generous. There are ways that this gym intentionally incorporates opportunities for community building and they've really established a super supportive culture. I never feel like I'm competing with anybody except myself and there are always people who are cheering for me, giving me a high five/fist bump/pat on the back, and saying "great job!" The coaches know their stuff when it comes to teaching proper form and they've been able to adapt all exercises for my ankle injury. They're so good at making it fun while encouraging you to do your best. As someone fairly new to weightlifting, I feel like I've gotten plenty of support from them on using proper form.In the four months that I've been going, I now come 5 days a week, have lost 10 lbs, and have increased the amount of weight and reps that I can do in all of the weight lifting movements we've done. My cardio stamina has noticeably increased and I've met so many lovely, inspiring, and uplifting people!

When I moved to Long Beach, I shopped around for a gym for a year before settling here - I’m only a couple months in and I love it! From the strong coaching that focuses on form to the welcoming community of members to the themed programming to ensure we’re consistently improving in core areas throughout the cycle, they had everything I was looking for and everything I loved from my last gym. Whether you’re trying to find your gym home or just looking for a good workout while passing through, I highly encourage you to give Metcon LB a try!

Joining Metcon was one of the best decisions I made when moving to Long Beach. They were very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. I was pretty new to this style of training and was a bit nervous. Well, there was no need to be and from the moment I met Amanda and signed up, I knew it was the right fit. All the coaches and members are very supportive, they work with you, challenge you, and help you to be your best. I work out mostly in the evenings with coach Edmond who is super dedicated to helping us achieve our goals and constantly pushing us to new levels. Metcon has truly become one of the things I look forward to most in my day.
