I went to Boston Barbell for the first time in April. Right from the start, Chris was welcoming, informative, and got me started on my fitness journey. I had never had formal gym training before and all the trainers made sure I did not feel intimidated at all. I did a couple months of personal training with Victoria and she was amazing as well, getting me ready for the group classes. I went on to do group classes with John and Brian and again, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed working out. The strong sense of community, facilities, great workout routines, respectful atmosphere, and fantastic trainers make Boston Barbell more than just a gym.

Boston Barbell has an incredibly positive atmosphere and knowledgeable/ personable coaches - there is someone for everyone. I was super nervous when I first started but was immediately welcomed and have gained so much confidence. I've been working with Victoria for almost a year and could not recommend more! The strength training groups are not only a great way to gain confidence and not feel alone in the gym, but are also fun and a great way to meet others with a similar mindset!!

Very customer centric/focused. John was super informative and welcoming even though I was from out of town and needed a solid workout while in the area. He and his team were so welcoming and accommodating.The facility is tight but has what you need for a terrific workout. The organization isn’t necessarily an open gym rather it’s focused group coaching at various times of the day for different goals/programs however the facility is open to members 24-hours to do solo workouts outside of the group coaching. While there is no day or weekly pass, John worked with me to ensure I could get a workout in while traveling. I’m grateful for that. Overall a Very cool setup and excellent vibe for the entire experience.

I joined Boston Barbell when I realized I needed to start committing to and investing in myself and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. Just within two weeks of working with Victoria I felt stronger and more energized. I’ve been with the gym for about 5 months and each time I go I feel stronger and stronger and have noticed improvements in my physique and mental health The trainers bring a great energy to each class and really focus on form which is great for both newbies and experienced lifters, and they really work with you if you’ve struggled with injuries in the past. I would highly recommend Boston Barbell to everyone, especially women who are looking to feel more confident in the gym!

I’ve been going to Boston Barbell for ~7 months after a referral from a friend. After I turned 50, I was always suffering from aches and pains. Chris is an incredible trainer and explains the physiology of everything in his program. Even though there are world class powerlifters in there, the culture of the gym is very welcoming. Best of all, I feel better and stronger than I have in 20 years. Such a great experience. I’m going to bring my teenage sons in this summer.

I can say confidently that it would be near impossible to find another gym that offers coaching at the highest level of expertise, in a state of the art space, administered by individuals who are truly devoted to the art and science of strength training, conditioning, and nutrition, all in a friendly, inclusive, and nurturing atmosphere. I’m a long time member of the Woman’s Functional Strength Training group here at @ Boston Barbell. The coaching staff led by owner Chris Martin are the most knowledgeable, innovative trainers totally dedicated to helping you achieve your strength training results. The gym is stocked with a constantly growing stock of state of the art equipment that makes training challenging and fun. Nutrition guidance, mobility, massage, stretching, hard core power lifting, functional strength training, athlete training, injury prevention, 1:1 coaching or small group classes all offered, plus a dose of inspiration, movie quotes and sports trivia.

I've been a member at Boston Barbell for almost 2 months now. The facility is incredible and the trainers really know their stuff! My trainer Victoria has been nothing short of amazing. I started at the gym because I was new to weight lifting / strength training, and Victoria has made me feel super comfortable in the gym while also coaching me and making sure I'm hitting the correct form on all my movements. She's super knowledgeable and is constantly helping me develop new skills while also making me feel so much more confident in the gym!

I am OBSESSED with Boston Barbell. Chris Martin is the most knowledgeable, invested fitness professional I have ever worked with— by far! I’ve traveled to his gym from all over the state, and many venture from even further away. When I’m traveling, he accommodates that as well. I’ve done virtual sessions during the pandemic, and have followed Chris wherever he goes from the start of his professional training career. He’s the best!

Boston Barbell is by far the best gym for any of your weight training goals. Chris, the owner, is not only extremely professional but the smartest personal trainer I have ever met. He adjusts every personal training session to fit the clients unique, individual needs and his personality & humor make the sessions fun and enjoyable. The clients who train there are all amazing to be around and outgoing / friendly. The environment and equipment are 15/10.I was very out of shape when I started training with Chris and since being with him have not only lost 30 pounds but also have gained a lot of confidence in the gym as he teaches you the how & why behind everything you do! I highly suggest reaching out and scheduling an intro session with him and his team.
