Choice Fitness, Lowell MA

As a visitor to the area, I figured I'd roll up here since they offered a free day paas. So here I am, thinking I'm about to get my pump on, but let me tell you, I've never been so bamboozled in my life dawg.First off, I'll preface this by saying that the SELECTION and VARIETY of the weights and strength training equipment they have is good, I'll give em that. But bro, I'd bet you Elon Musk's net worth that the weights that've been collecting dust in your grandma's basement are more well-maintained then they are here.You wanna listen to some Three Days Grace or Avenged Sevenfold?Well that's too bad son. Because you're gonna be forced against your will to listen to the sweet sweet melody of squeaking machines sounding like they're screaming for a WD-40 baptism.

This used to be a 4-5 star gym, but no more.I live out of town, but end up in Lowell a lot for contracted work or to see friends. So when I'd come to town now and then, I'd use this gym because it's got great equipment selection, and a day pass was only $10 like any other reasonable normal gym. Well, now their day pass has suddenly doubled to $20.Who in their right mind would spend 20 bucks to spend an hour or two using equipment at a gym that isn't even very fancy or special? What a load of garbage.

Has decent machines and enough free weights to go around when it’s not peak hours, their functional fitness area is closed off to men since it’s a women only training area, pretty sexist and makes using the actual functional equipment they have here a pain since it’s in the women’s only area and the employees here can get pretty aggressive about it, I’m just waiting for a crunch fitness to open up somewhere near Lowell then cancelling my membership asap

Horrible Organization. Membership expired over a year ago. They refuse to cancel my membership despite written & Verbal Request. Complaint filed with the BBB. Stay away from this place. General Manager: Scott

I like the gym, I just miss that the professionals who work at the gym could help some students who don't know how to use the equipment very well.

Place is filled with racist/ members who are very loud and disrespectful. I've been going to choice fitness for ten years in all their locations but this one is filled with terrible people who needs there membership revoked immediately. Take better control of your members please. Step it up!

Good gym. There's enough bars, machines and weight even at peak times. The staff is chill and play their own mixes. I wish you could use chalk here but I get it. It's not a powerlifting gym but imma give it a 5

Whatever “big tough guy” working here on 1/29/23 needs to chill out and cut it with the power trip they are on. Super unprofessional and flat out rude. I wouldn’t recommend this place to absolutely anybody. So many other gyms that actually have employees that care about peoples well being. Hope they are ashamed of themselves truly!

Needs a general manager who’s actually there or a new policy that allows members to cancel when he’s not which is most of the time. Instead you spend 6 months to a year trying to get in touch with him while still being billed. Time to retire for a fresh younger manager who can keep up aka Steve.

1 week into membership and still unused (after 1 free week, unused. keep reading). Paid 3 months up ($150) front when what seemed like a simple request, was going to be granted (for my morning workout). Here we are 2 weeks later and still no workout or even a single check in at the gym. Got a tshirt, but no sense in keeping more laundry to do. I dont keep bad memories. I made the "choice" to pick their facility because it was closest and had the equipment I need for my workouts, but it seems it was the wrong choice at this point. For prospective members reading this, YOU have other Choices.Update...5/27/22...called to see if they had put a spin bike out on the floor to use and still no bike. Such a small request and they ignore, disregard and no communication to date other than wishy washy replies with no commitment. Seeing reviews from other members who have tried to get a refund and how unsuccessful it was, is sad and poor customer service. If i have to get the local news company involved to come make a presence, that will at least keep some would be business from them. Since i cant expect a simple request to be granted, how can i expect a refund, right.
