Is this place out of business?It looks abandoned, haven't seen anything in the parking lot in months.Just wanted to stop by and leave a quick 1 star review

Never, ever sign up with this place. My son signed up for 2 months (doing an internship in the area) and when he left, verbally cancelled with the person saying he was all set. In the meantime we've just discovered he's been charged $49 each month (his fault for not checking his account) and when he called to get a refund and ask what happened, has gotten this third party billing who is now saying he owes them money and it takes 60 days to cancel!!! Manager hung up on him when he called to see what was going on and said to never call that number. Reporting them to BBB for deceptive practice. DO NOT GO HERE!!

Place sucks. Period. 6 years of the sauna being broken on and off. They just won’t do anything to improve the gym. Has so much potential but no desire to be a solid gym at all.

Cancellation policy is completely deranged. They completely manipulated me as a college student when I was looking for somewhere to go during winter break. I made that extremely clear and the owner said it was fine. Got a tour, told me about a membership they offer that can be canceled at anytime no charge. So i signed it. I ended up being charged for MONTHS when I didn’t even live in the same state. I had to provide documentation that I moved and even then they still didn’t cancel it. You cant talk to to anyone about it who works there and they refer you to a scam company called ABC Fitness. When you try to call them to cancel it’s VERY clear the entire thing is a con. Do not sign anything with this gym, unless you want hundreds of dollars taken out of your account every month.

The gym itself is great! It's really big, has good equipment, a sauna in the lockerrooms, is clean, and the staff was nice and laid back. I always went after work and it was even still pretty quiet. The billing/fees are a rip off though! Its extremely expensive and the cancelation process is a nightmare. You have to do it through ABC fitness where you have to mail your request. The contract requires a 60 day cancelation notice so I'm going to be paying for 2 unwanted months because I'm moving. I tried to freeze my account during bad covid spikes, and I still had to pay $10/month...for what??? I wasn't going! Especially in a time like covid, you'd think they'd have a more flexible process. And they hit you with random renewal fees at the beginning of the year, as if the membership wasn't expensive enough. The gym is great, but the hassle of payments is really disappointing. I regret getting a membership here, overall not worth it.

I enjoyed working out at gold's gym and was excited that they had a military price and told me I could cancel/pause for my upcoming deployment! Deployment comes up and 3 months later I am still fighting with ABC Financial to cancel my account. They refused my emailed orders and said I had to send them. They refused my mailed ones and told me I didn't qualify despite my orders saying I would be in the middle east for 9 months. Then they refused to communicate with my power of attorney at home. I will not be bringing my business back to this gold's gym or any other institution that uses abc financial when I come home.The gym itself also only has 3 squat racks and the rest of the weightlifting areas are somewhat sufficient, if not extremely busy on weeknights, the staff is mostly friendly, and the CrossFit area is okay.

Cancellation of a month-month cost me $200.My wife and I signed up for the month to month plan to hold us over for a few months while we shopped for homes. Cancellation requires 2 months notice, we've moved and now we're stuck paying for 2 months of membership that we won't be able to use. This seems like a ridiculous policy for a month-month plan.All account management is done through their parent company who outsources their customer service. Nobody at the gym can help you when you have account issues, the outsourced customer service doesn't understand the policy, company or account details and the parent company ABC Financial does not do customer service so good luck getting a hold of them to get a better understand of processes or contract details.The cancellation spoiled an otherwise good experience at this gym. The facilities were adequate and pricing was fair.

Avoid. Good facility and pleasant staff, but the cancellation policy is frustrating to no end and completely ludicrous. You are only allowed to cancel your membership under very particular circumstances, all of which require extensive documentation. Want to talk to the gym about it? Too bad, you have to deal directly with ABC Financial in Arkansas. Want to talk to them? Too bad, you’ll actually be on a phone call with some guy from India, who clearly has never read the contract you’ve signed onto before. I’ve only been a member here for a week but I’m already starting the cancellation process because I’ve heard many horror stories about being billed to no end. Very disappointing and premature conclusion to what I hoped would be my favorite new spot.EDIT: For whatever reason, the name of the place this review is for (Gold’s Gym Tewksbury) has changed on some maps/websites to True Fitness. Whatever name they go by, and regardless of their attempts to change their name to save the company image, my points still stand. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Probably the best gym I've ever been a member with. All the equipment is either new or in amazing condition. The other members are extremely respectful and no one seems to get in each others way. Came in once and never thought about going back to my old gym.Also, special shout-out to Mark (the manager) - I had an issue with my account not properly displaying my full account details that he took care of quickly and courteously. I've been a member of a few gyms in the past and the staff here is top notch - 5 stars all the way around!

I've tried out three different gyms and I've been a member at Gold's for two years now. I've had excellent experience from the staff and manager overall. The gym is never crowded so you never have to fight for a machine and it's always relatively neat so you can find things. Always a great place to achieve your workout goals with highly qualified trainers.
