Professor Mike and his team of extremely skilled mercenary’s has brought my game to a whole new level within four months. It’s Proven people!!!! I will sub all of you reading this. Look, I only spit truth. So with that being said, you’d have to show up to see what I’m talking about. Be there or be a lazy sap suck that no one likes. This school has changed my life. The classes are well-detailed to properly learn the techniques while also ALWAYS providing ample time to get rolls in with other practitioners.Professor Mike Westcott is world class and it’s clear his coaching is effective. We consistently have grapplers medaling in multiple classes at tournaments. The school is full of excellent grapplers who are willing to help everyone, whether you’re a white belt or a colored belt.For years I had missed combat sports and as a former wrestler, this was exactly what I needed to get the competitive edge back in my life.“The best time to start was yesterday. The 2nd best time to start is today.”Just come in and try it. You won’t regret it.

GB Murfreesboro is one of the best BJJ schools in Tennessee. Professor Mike is world class in jiu jitsu and teaching. I started jiu jitsu journey 10 years ago and took a long layoff. Prof Mike welcomed me back with open arms. I highly recommend to anyone interested in self-defense, martial arts, or even just a great workout.

To the person reading this review!More than likely; you're wondering if this school is right for you, your kids, or are you getting the absolute best!With out a doubt the answer is YES!!When I was doing research on schools to attend. This one was the best one I came across. I generally have a few things I look for in a dojo. Mostly because I've had experience with other Martial Arts.1. Who is the Instructor/ Professor of the dojo/Academy.2. how do they run their class, and is their main objective at the end of the day their students?3. What is the atmosphere of the place, and is it clean.4. Do I feel accepted, like I belong, welcomed, respected and most important! Am I happy!To start with! The head Professor Is Mike Westcott!2 time world champion. After going to this Academy for several months now. I can with out a doubt say this gym is ran efficiently, and with nothing but love for the students. With the gym available 7 days a week, and classes 6 days a week; with morning classes available. Their is an amazing amount convince. Now as far as the learning aspect goes. Mike is really passionate about Jiu Jitsu, and the knowledge his students know. With other Dojo's I've been to. They would hand out belts every other month just to either keep revenue. I'll tell you right now! If you find a place that does that RUN!! Mike cares more about rather or not the student grasp, and understands the art. Even much so that he still competes, and teaches his students life lessons. How to be a leader, and building self confidences. I remember when he lost one of his matches. He apologized to his students, but yet instead of feeling down on him self. He used the opportunity to tell his students. That losing a battle is in life will come, but it's how you respond to it is what makes the difference. That he will train harder, and be better next time! I've noticed. He has no problem accepting when he is wrong, and doesn't let his ego get in his way of learning. In fact he embraces it. Looking for the best way to handle a problem in the art of jiu jitsu. He is a very polite, and patient man.As far as the atmosphere on the gym! It's like your home away from home. A place you can go to meditate, and just be in the moment of things. Everyone their is supper supportive, and really cares about one another! Teaching, cheering for each other, and just plan out being kind to each other. Growing as a family. The cleanness of the gym is great! The mats are wiped clean after each class, the bathrooms, and locker rooms are very well taken care of.As far as the fourth criteria goes! yes! I can't really tell you how to feel. So the best thing to do is go ahead, and give Professor Mike a call! Schedule a class. I can guarantee we will accept you with open arms! However be prepared to push your self, and fall in love with the art of Jiu Jitsu like I did!!

I started training BJJ at Gracie Barra Murfreesboro in January 2022, and I can honestly say that it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Ever since my first day at the gym, all of my Professors, coaches, and teammates have been nothing but welcoming towards me. It is a very safe environment to learn how to fight and to defend yourself. Jiu-jitsu, in general, has so many benefits - self-confidence, discipline, and problem solving skills, to name a few. All of the Professors and coaches at GB Murfreesboro are highly knowledgeable, patient, and happy to teach anyone and everyone jiu-jitsu!
