This is the best gym in New York: easily the most knowledgeable staff and most advanced equipment.

Trying to get ready for summer but seem to just not have the right motivation, I highly recommend joining Calvin’s classes. I used to be on a crazy workout routine and then just lost my flow. I’m usually not a class person as the group is judgy or because the instructor just can’t pay attention to everyone but that’s not the case here. The group is full of regulars so it’s more of a team and community. Calvin really takes 1 on 1 time which I appreciate. These classes will make you work! You leave motivated and excited for the next class. Must try Gud Sport!!

Like so many, for the past year I didn't have access to proper equipment and space to train due to covid. That, plus having to take some time off to rehab for an injury, meant a significant loss of fitness and strength, a huge physical and mental blow for a dancer like me. Fortunately, for the past month I have been back to training at Hype Gym and it's been awesome. I am extremely grateful to all the wonderful trainers here and the incredible facility which is always clean and well maintained. My favorite thing about Hype is that it's a focused environment where you are either in a private or semi-private session, there's never a crowd like at the chain gyms. Not to be missed if you are serious about your training and want to skip the fluff and crowds.

Came in because Im looking for a new gym, after reading great reviews. Waited at “the front desk” for 10 minutes in this tiny studio to get assistance on memberships and take a tour on the facility and no one ever showed up. Asked a couple of costumers if they knew who could help and got ignored by one and received a rude answer from the other that they didn't work there! Rude costumers = poor workout environment and clearly unwelcoming. Im glad I got the real experience without any help from “costumer service/front desk”. Total disappointment since I was really excited to join.

Honestly , the BEST gym I’ve ever been to. Since day one, I’ve felt welcomed . Everyone is so friendly, helpful and determined . The equipment is amazing and unique along with a supportive staff . I’m also not a “gym freak “ but yet I still feel so comfortable here ( some gyms can be so judgmental and harsh ). The gym is really clean and well kept along with lovely bath/dressing rooms . It’s honestly a great vibe while you receive a great workout . My trainer Kyle, is super supportive and inspiring . I HIGHLY recommend this gym .

I am a trainer and have been basing my business out of Hype for a few months now. The culture among the trainers is unbelievable. Amazing work environment. I feel like I'm getting better at my job every week. My clients are also happy coming here. They've also recently expanded the space and are putting in lots of Keiser equipment. Soon, my clients will be able to actually measure and sum their power output over the whole workout by taking a personal key from station to station. I don't want to train anywhere else!

I recently started doing the semi-private training lessons at Hype Gym and have been loving them. They are an incredible deal, as you get personal attention and feedback from a trainer but at a fraction of the price. The groups are always small, and being surrounded by others helps to keep you motivated. The workouts are challenging and force me to push myself, but the atmosphere is very fun and supportive and the trainers highly customize the workout to your experience level. The facilities are clean and well maintained and the equipment is new and modern.

I have been a trainer in NYC for over 10 years and have worked with Hype Gym for 8 of those years. The new Hype Gym in Union Square is an exclusive state of the art training facility. It harbors elite coaches and trainers while placing emphasis on educational resources and seminars from Top Coaches from around the world. This is a top notch training facility in the heart of NYC.

Been an independent trainer at both Hype facilities. Run by industry ppl that understand the needs of trainers and clients. Brand new equipment. All Rogue racks that basically act as 'stations' with individual dumbbell racks. Decent open floor space and some rarely seen Keiser equipment. Only drawback would be this one has a little less locker room/shower space compared to the 27th St location... But like the original location this gym is kept exceptionally clean. Also great location wise at Union Square for clients that need to commute.

I've trained and worked in several different gyms and facilities. The trainers here are top notch. Educated to the highest degree. I've been taking part of the semi-private personal training sessions and not only did I learn how to correctly squat for the first time, but I have fun there too! I thoroughly enjoy and look forward to my sessions with Nick. Nick is a talented trainer and a fantastic person. I've made lots of friends there and feel more strong and confident each time I leave a session. Thank you Hype! Thank you, Nick!
