If you want clear and complete instructions, targeted muscle (total body) workout and burn, want to discover muscles you never knew you had, want to be corrected on the right and safe form, then this is the right place for you! Great energy at this barMethod Oakland. Great instructors, with encouraging attitude. And, if you keep at it, you'll see results, especially butt tone up and shape up!

During class, the owner corrected my technique - which I did due to an injury - in a rude, loud and inappropriate way. It was embarrassing. I left class, told staff what happened. I was told it was the owner who yelled at me, that she was pregnant and that she's done this before. Gross behavior! I never returned. This was years ago, and really did happen. Even if they claim otherwise.

I have been going to Bar Method Lakeshore for over 9 years and the staff, instructors and owners are committed to providing a workout community that is a place of belonging and inclusion for any one looking to tone the best parts of their bodies and have fun at the same time. Coming regularly is how you see results, and the workouts differ each day and by each instructor so there is never a dull moment!

The Bar Method Oakland is OPEN and it is fabulous! If you want to get strong and be surrounded by an amazing and diverse community of clients and teachers, this is your spot. Bar Method is the original barre class, and you will be challenged but also supported. All levels are welcome - this is one of my favorite parts of Bar Method classes. You can be the strongest in the room or just getting started, but everyone's energy is positive and encouraging and focused on making the most of class. The teachers are the best of the best, there are a variety of classes offered and most importantly it's FUN!

I love this studio. The instructors are so fun and they really make you work! They play close attention to each of their clients. This is the third Bar Method studio I've been to, but the first time I've been corrected on some positioning and have never felt better! Thanks Audrey and Chelsea for welcoming me into the studio :)

I'm so glad that I checked out this studio several years ago. I really like the instructors, cleanliness of the place, and how good I feel when class is over. I also like how I feel so strong when I am consistent with the classes. This workout makes me smile. I like the challenges they organize; they keep me motivated to return to class over and over again. Thanks for the workout every time.

I've been going to Bar for the last 8 years -- 3 of them at Bar Method Marina, and the last 5 here at Bar Method Oakland. I love everything about this studio, from the natural light that floods the main workout room to the wonderful instructors who are about as down-to-earth and friendly as they can be, and so good at what they do. I can't imagine going to any other exercise studio. Studio owners Audrey & Chelsea have created an awesome little oasis of strong women getting stronger. Highly recommend.

The Oakland Bar Method studio is amazing! The staff and instructors are so friendly and welcoming, and I love the studio space and overall amenities. Going to any gym or studio can be very intimidating, but I’ve never felt out of place here. It’s a challenging and effective workout.

I LOVE BAR!!!!! I have been attending for about 16 months, during which time I have seen my body become significantly stronger. My arms are quite muscular, as is my back. And my bum has lifted significantly! I am grateful for the changes in my body, but Bar is so much more. The teachers and staff are nothing but encouraging and kind. The music is upbeat and energizing. The facility is beautiful. And I love the sense of community.

I got a giftcard to the Bar Method & am having a great time working out here. My legs have gotten much stronger, & I am seeing definition. Though smaller than the Walnut Creek childcare room, my 2 year old really liked the Oakland one. There is a clean feel about the place & I feel comfortable using the lockers. Though the classes have us do small repetitive movements that might not look like much, I often shake through the exercises and know I am building strength. The class incorporates many stretches which help my body feel balanced throughout the day.
