I’ve been doing mat pilates for years, but ever since working from home the past 2mths, I’ve come to really appreciate PoP’s virtual mat pilates classes led by experienced instructor Mirko. The ease of signing on to his Zoom classes (on Tuesdays and Fridays) keeps me logging on, but what keeps me coming back week after week are the results (less back tension, more flexibility, and -yes- stronger core/glutes/thighs that are sore in the best way possible). This is the re-set my body needs after working 8-6 in my home office. The precision of Mirko’s instruction/imagery cues is quite possibly as effective as tactile ones. Each class is different but you’re guaranteed to be challenged and feeling energized. All this wrapped in both humor and encouragement (he’s there doing all the exercises along with you!) is what keeps me going from start to finish. Highly recommend you give PoP’s Zoom pilates classes with Mirko a try!

"Pilates of Pasadena" is an OUTSTANDING place to do Pilates, but since the recent quarantine I have even more HIGH PRAISE to share! Maria Jiménez-Tierney (owner) and Mirko Turla (instructor) immediately offered Pilates mat classes through Zoom the very first week of quarantine! Throughout the past two months I've been able to continue my thrice weekly sessions (both classes and private lessons) with Mirko Turla. He is an EXCEPTIONAL instructor in the studio but he has really proved his mettle teaching via the Internet -- providing excellent verbal cues and explanations that ensure his students are doing all movements correctly and are receiving the BEST possible workout. Also, he really makes the sessions fun! To be able to continue Pilates has helped me to maintain my physical fitness and my mental health as well. I am especially grateful to Mirko Turla and Maria Jiménez-Tierney for persevering for their students -- so impressive and very much appreciated!

During the Covid-19 pandemic, I have found it hard to exercise on my own alone. The Zoom classes offered by Pilates of Pasadena have been wonderful. The time offerings and instructors vary making it easy to select a class. I’ve zoomed into classes by Maria, Dorothy, and Mirko. Their classes are challenging and have improved my strength, working all muscles. They combine weights, bands, and mat pilates. These instructors are careful to watch my form and technique and offer adjustments as needed or alter for my particular physical issues. I’ve enjoyed seeing my friends from the studio. Additionally, my family and friends are zooming the classes. The price/class is incredible.

POP deserves 10 stars. Professional, thoughtful, and prepared, Maria is dedicated to her profession and very knowledgeable. The atmosphere is supportive and warm, and the equipment is top-notch and in great shape. The studio is SPOTLESS and very well run. We have moved to Zoom classes for now, and I am amazed at Maria's ability to keep us engaged, watch our form, and mix up the routines even though we are limited to what we can do at home. I came to POP 2 years ago with constant back pain - my back would go out 2-3 times/year and I had had enough. Since I started class with Maria I have had ZERO episodes. ZERO.

I am an active over 65 woman and I have worked with Maria for some time. Since I started chronic back aches and morning stiffness have disappeared. In addition with a small weight loss and increased strength, I feel great! She is very good a working with individual concerns or injuries as well. My sister has become a client on my recommendation and I highly recommend Pilates of Pasadena to all!
