(I can only speak for bouldering) Route setting is pretty good, I'd say the second best gym I've ever been to. I'd say there's a pretty big gap of grades between really easy and intermediate, there's very little v2 climbs, however there's a ton of v3-v4, not a huge deal breaker, but something I observed. The staff are super nice, prices aren't crazy high, they have really nice gym equipment and hang boards, and over all the community there is pretty rad. But I do heavily dislike the grading system they have, where climbing grades are grouped together, it just feels kind of cheap. When you progress it's definitely more anti-climatic, and definitely takes a bit of fun out of climbing there.Definitely check it out, I'm just one guy on the internet, who knows it may be perfect to you.

Awesome experience. Went as a group of 3 beginners. The staff was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed (we rented shoes, harnesses, etc). Great variety of difficulties. It was pretty busy but we never found ourselves waiting for a spot to climb. Would definitely return.

Nice and knowledgeable staff. Fun hard boulders. I gave it 4 stars because their lounge area doesn't have any easy power hookups and their wifi blocks so many sites I couldn't use it for work.

Fun climbing gym! Super friendly staff! Great settings! Head setter Brendan is very experienced and has many years of setting under his belt. I enjoyed my climbing there very much! Will definitely go back next time I visit Portland.

I started climbing at Salt Pump about 6 months ago after my daughter attended a party there... and I just knew I had to get in on the fun and become a member! It's become an integral part of my routine and is so amazing for not only physical health, but mental health as well. Great staff, incredible community, and fantastic climbing! :)

Never had been rock climbing before, but Salt Pump made it super easy! The staff were so friendly, helpful, and informative. So many options and amenities at the gym made it easy to be comfortable, even as a first-timer. Great experience, and I can't wait to go back again soon!

I first went to Salt Pump on a whim in January. A friend invited me and I went into it thinking this place was meant for kids. Here I am 3 months later going 2-3 times per week because I am fully addicted.Salt Pump has provided me with a great setting to fall in love with the sport of climbing. The staff is super friendly and helpful to the novices like me. The variety of climbing routes keeps it fresh every time you go. There’s always a new route to test yourself on and improve your skills. On top of all that, the hours of operation are so convenient. I work long hours and to be able to get to the gym at 8pm or later and still have ample climbing time is beyond clutch. After working in an office all day, I’ve found it invaluable to have a big energy expenditure at the end of the day. This climbing gym has improved my quality of life in a variety of ways.Thank you to the Salt Pump team for providing this community with an amazing place to learn, laugh, and have fun!

phenomenal first day of my membership - just swapped from a gym membership to this and was pleasantly surprised by a fully functional weight gym upstairs - additionally the staff are all great and the vibes are onpoint - the only thing i wish - a twinkle in my eyes - is that there could somehow be an early open on weekdays for those of us who have to depart for work at ih dark hundred and yet want to get a good climb in to start the day clean, pumped, and salty! 🤙🏽🙏🏽👊🏻
