I had always wanted to take Pilates, but never felt comfortable in big groups. I decided to give this place a try because they offered small classes. The woman teaching my session was Ashley Salisbury, who from their website description of instructors, was someone who "enjoys working with people who are trying to lose weight and manage chronic pain". I thought she would be a good fit for me because I wanted to do Pilates for weight loss. The studio itself was nicely decorated with exposed brick and wood floors, but Ashley was NOT nice at all and was rather unpleasant from the moment I walked in. Despite her attitude being a real turn-off, I decided to ignore it and give the class a try.During my class, I asked her if I were doing the exercise correctly and she snapped at me in an annoyed tone; I was astounded. Pilates was supposed to be encompass positive energy but yet this woman was miserable. I was trying to keep up with her movements and realized that she was almost purposely going at a quicker pace, thus to confuse me.I finally had to stop her and ask if I was performing the exercise correctly because it felt uncomfortable. I wanted to make sure my positioning was ok to avoid an injury. She again, snapped back a response and was completely unsympathetic and was unwilling to help me. Those who are teaching Pilates class, or any other exercise for that matter, should be willing to help and GUIDE you; NOT be nasty and unkind. If you are looking for a new place for Pilates, I'd recommend staying clear from Ashley Salisbury at Springboard Pilates. She was by far, the WORST exercise instructor I've ever encountered!
