Some hippie named Dave works here, he’s handsome, and strong. Smells like fair trade testosterone. 10/10. Great coaching, cool building. I get a lot from going here.

After just under two years my results have been amazing. I'm energized, no longer suffering from persistent joint pain, and my physique has been transformed from dad bod to novice bodybuilder. All that with amazing couching and at a price well below the industry norm. Check this place out, you owe it to yourself.

I’m in the middle of week eight at Providence Barbell Club, so I’m still new to this gym. I’ve been working with Jeremy and his Strength and Conditioning program. At first I was super apprehensive about joining this gym because of how far I’ve fallen from where I used to be. Jeremy is a great fitness coach, not only because he draws from a broad knowledge base of different fitness modalities, but he also has a great feel for each person’s individual needs and goals. Jeremy knows when to push a person and also knows when it’s time to ease up. I also see Jeremy working with children too, which is awesome. If you’re sick of the same old thing at your gym, want to shake things up, or maybe just want to try something different and challenging, give Providence Barbell Club a chance. I’m glad I did.

Excellent gym; I came in basically as an inexperienced lifter looking to gain some strength and get fit. The five months I've spent training here so far, I've improved beyond my wildest dreams. These trainers WILL push you to get you towards your goals and legitimately care about the success of the people who come here; they do everything to keep workouts fun and interesting while catering to your needs and desires. I don't think I would've been able to gain the physical and mental strength I have if I was working on my own; I cannot possibly sing the praises of this gym enough. Five stars.

Great location. It was walkable from my downtown hotel. The owner was friendly and welcoming to an out of town drop in. The exterior entrance is shared with the CrossFit gym. Once you enter the barbell club is the door to the left. There were 7 platforms. It was very quiet when I went in the morning. The hours are fantastic. I will definitely be dropping in again next time I'm in town.

This place is awesome and the people are great. David Ethier is the best coach in New England and a great guy, really supportive and incredibly knowledgeable.

A uniquely excellent experience. If you are looking to be more effective with your time in the gym, have strength goals, or are simply looking to do something different, Providence Barbell Club (PBC) is the place. The coaches, Jared & Dave provide personalized coaching specific to you and how you move. The workouts are unique and refreshingly different from more traditional "leg day", "back & bicep day" type routines. The workouts also build on each other - every day you are working towards a bigger, longer term goal. I found this to be fun and motivating. My personal experience with PBC was doing an individualized 12-week program. I live far away, so most of the workouts were on my own, but I would send Jared & Dave videos of my lifts. They were always available to give me feedback and were very prescriptive on everything from the warm up, to the lifts, to the accessory work. After 12-weeks the results exceeded my expectations.1. My strength increased - 1 rep maxes went up by an average of 20 pounds.2. My core strength is significantly stronger and I'm much more stable holding heavy weight.3. My mobility, specifically hips & ankle mobility, improved allowing me to get into more proper positioning from squats to snatches.4. My lifting technique improved, lowering my risk of injury. If you are an expert looking to materially improve your strength, or are new to weightlifting and want to learn how to lift safely.....or, like me, am somewhere in the middle and am looking to improve on many goals, I strongly recommend Providence Barbell Club.
