Racine Family YMCA in Mt Pleasant, WI, offers a range of activities for families, including childcare and swimming. The facility has friendly staff and maintains a welcoming atmosphere, making it a community favorite. However, frequent pool closures due to maintenance and lifeguard shortages can be problematic, especially for those looking forward to pool activities. Despite these issues, many appreciate the warm pools and the therapeutic benefits they offer.
The amenities are good, but cleanliness and upkeep in locker rooms need improvement. The organization could benefit from better communication regarding facility schedules to prevent inconvenience. Parking is an area of concern as it is not free, adding to the overall cost for members.

Great facility, but not great at cleanliness. Men's locker room showers have mildew and smell like piss. They are hosed down but never wiped down or moped. Desk staff doesn't care. Lockers are beat up and need repair.

I have carried my screaming toddler out the doors of this establishment too many times because the pool schedule keeps jumping around from "month to month." if the pool isn't down for maintenance, it's the steam room, if it's not the steam room it's the hot tub that's down. There's never enough lifeguards for the children to enjoy the pool slide. I started my membership in January, for the first two weeks everything was fine everything from there has gone downhill. I really thought this place was for the youth but it seems like there's more adults there than there is youth. I'm paying for a membership each month for my toddler and I to be able to show up four times a month?

Only downfall is the leisure pool being closed; due to not having lifeguards. However there’s not much they can do about that. They have really friendly staff, a great childcare area and a pretty nice workout area. I would definitely recommend here.I should also add this is the only Y I’ve been to since I was a child. Do with that what you will.

(Sealed Air Branch) Beautiful facility and location. The option for childcare included in membership is a plus. If you are joining mainly for the use of the pool especially for family swim l would not recommend. The lifeguard shortage has been the explanation for years now (even though the Kenosha Y does not have this same issue) and it is routinely not available or closed. It’s a shame bc they have a great splash area for toddlers and a waterslide for older kids (that is also rarely open).

With the shortage of life guards the pool area is sometimes closed. When this happens it seems that notification to those swimmers that have a reserved lane could easily be sent via email/text msg.I have made this suggestion a number of times with no feedback on why it is not implemented. It is very frustrating to waste significant time & money driving all the way to the Y to learn that the pool is closed.

I'd give a 5 star review, however, every time I come here I encounter a rude staff member who goes by the name of Faye. She yells at other staff members and YMCA members. I purposely go out of my way to the sealed air YMCA so I don't have to talk to her.

Staffs are very nice, but most facilities looking very old. Very surprised the parking was not free.:(

I love swiming here but the showers could be better like more even because at one part of the water it has more pressure and it hurts my shoulder sometimes but i don't know about the mens locker room. Also it kinda sucks that kids can't have their feet in the hot tub like my mom is in the hot tub and I want to be with her so I sit next to her and put my feet in AND THEN A LIFEGUARD BLOWS THE WHISTLE AT ME!! Also why can't people under 18 go in hot tubs? It's unfair and I like places they can like "hmm I want this swimming place to have a hot tub, LETS MAKE IT ONLY FOR ADULTS BECUASE WE SUCK!!" Boi no

Absolutely wonderful.. Love the pool, large pool is always at least 82 degrees, small pool always at least 92 degrees and fantastic for all ages, and people recovering from hip, knee, shoulder surgery... The whirlpool. Is 102 degrees and is such a therapeutic treat after a workout on either land or water. The people are so friendly and kind... Being new to the area I was beyond pleased with every aspect of this facility.

Im not sure of how this place can stay open. Its past due for a complete overhaul. The planned opening of the new YMCA in September is years overdue. The place is dangerous, dirty and dosent offer what other YMCA's offer. Sub-par for even Racine.
