My opinion, make the extra 7 -10 minute drive to Belvidere for some gyms who care about the people in their community more.My main issue with this gym was (is) getting the membership cancelled. The owner (Paul) confirmed my cancellation in July. I get charged again in August and again confirm cancellation with Paul. Long story short, I now have to dispute this through my credit card and provide evidence of cancellation (which I have). It s taken 3 months and counting to try and get them to do the right thing.There is a third party that bills you, the parent company (ABC I believe). When trying to cancel and get refunded, there is a lot of finger pointing back and forth between the owner and the biller, no one will to admit a mistake, which doesn't help the customer at all.Basically the whole thing is a huge pain to the customer which could easily be avoided. It almost seems as they just want to frustrate you to the point of forgetting about it. If you do this at 38 dollars a pop to enough people, and they give up, I imagine you make a nice chunk of change.The gym is OK. It's got everything you need. It's usually not too crowded. I would say it's a little on the pricey side for what you can get elsewhere. However, it's the only Gym in Poplar Grove open to the public that I know of, so they get away with it for now. I imagine people would enjoy another option locally.

The Worst place to do business with. If only google gave an option to give 0stars.The “Owner” tells you one thing and does another thing.Also the owner charges you random rates at any given time at what ever charged he wants. Plus he starts harassing and bad mouthing you on social media…. Wow this is just the worst place anyone can go to.Go to planet fitness way better bang for your buck.

If I could lower rating I would. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THIS BUSINESS!! My daughter was told that she could cancel her contract at any time but the contract has 3 day clause and guess what, they won't let her cancel. They keep taking money from her account weekly even through she is not using a physical trainer or the facility. Not a way to run a business, BEWARE!!

The Anytime Fitness is a phenomenal gym and environment! Plus the employees here are top notch. Definitely recommend coming out to check it out.

They have everything you really need. The staff are helpful. Unfortunately, the gym is typically a mess because nobody puts back their equipment. High school kids hog the squat racks and equipment making it difficult to utilize the equipment. There are a lot of people I know who used to workout here that now go to the Machesney Park location. That location is MUCH better.
