Mashouf Wellness Center at San Francisco State University offers a variety of fitness and wellness activities. The facility includes modern amenities like a rock climbing wall, basketball courts, an indoor track, and a competition lap pool. The center is clean and well-maintained, with staff who are generally helpful and friendly. The center is convenient and free for SFSU students, with discounts for alumni.
However, the gym can get crowded, and some equipment shows wear and tear. The pool, sauna, and hot tub have had prolonged closures, and weight lifting areas are limited. Hours of operation changes aren’t always well-communicated, which can be frustrating for users.

Love this gym with a great staff, especially John Rivera. I met him working out and he offered me tips as im new to working out. We now talk almost everyday. I thank him for my fitness journey. 5 starts love this place!

Super nice building with an indoor running track, free weights, weight/workout machines, three basketball courts (with one usually setup for volleyball), rock climbing wall, two pools, and a hot tub. Go to the front desk and ask for a towel if you want to go to the pool

Facilities are pretty great, everything is usually clean and functional and there's a lot to do. I just wish the summer natatorium hours were more flexible. 12-6pm is a pretty short window. I'm at work for most of it.

Masjouf Wellness Center was one of the best gym I have ever been. New equipments, clean and modern designs was a great surplus. Staffs we're helpful and the instructors for indoor classes are superb.

Got a tour today. Not super impressed but it recently opened so sounds like they still need some work. Would like to see more olympic lifting squat racks for advanced strength training. They only had one Mediocre squat rack and a signup …

Cool place for students to workout but I think they should lower the prices for alumni. The staff most of the time are knowledgeable and the Mashouf is getting better at creating more community events. In terms of the workout classes there should be more days for swimming.

Great gym should have more crunch machines and maybe also create open Adult Basketball League for the summer and have students also do scorekeeping. The Wellness Center hours need to be better advertise for the community. Wish that they had …

It's the closest, cheapest gym option for me. It's v clean. Polite, helpful staff. But, as much as it looks brand new, it's as gender binary as it comes any where in Mississippi! Men's locker and women's locker rooms exist and no space for non-binary or gender non-conforming whatsoever. Except for one token "all gender" bathroom in the members area on the second floor tucked away next to weight-lifting equipments, nothing all-gender inclusive exists in this modern building in this public university in San Francisco. I bet the upper management thinks how diverse, welcoming and awesome they are!

Newly built wellness center that's free for SFSU students. Inside there's a rock climbing wall, 3 multi-purpose basketball courts, indoor track, free weights, fitness machines, competition lap pool and more. Staff is still new but helpful. Alum get discounts.

Nice building with a good variety of activities. However things are ALWAYS broken; on a GOOD day 2 out of the 4 stair masters work. Good thing there's a lot of treadmills I guess. A lot of the weight machines keep breaking too. I think that the centre might be a little better if it had fewer activities but the activities it did have had really high quality equipment. It also needs more weight machines. Staff pick and choose who they enforce policy with, so be aware of that. Also it's $10 for a guest pass and you only get something like 4 per semester. That seems a little vampiric to me. Maybe we get 4 free passes and then after that it's $10? Just a suggestion.Overall, it's a really good facility for being free for students ("Free" meaning part of our tuition). Has a lot of options that are sure to keep you entertained.I don't recommend coming here after 5:30 if you don't like crowds. The pool is very nice. Will be even better once they fix the sauna and the hot water to the jacuzzi.
