Nice staff and facility. Other than that gym had everything I would want out of a CrossFit gym, plus they had an open gym area where you could do your own programming. 👍 …

Great gym and a great community! Joined United Barbell over 2 years ago even though I was a bit intimidated by CrossFit. All of the coaches here are really friendly, welcoming and very professional when it comes to warming up, having the correct form and making a WOD work for your capabilities.

I’ve been to nearly all the CrossFit gyms in SF and the east bay, and there are only a few that get the two important things right: coaching/programming and community. Most other things you can flex on, but those two things really define the experience and quality of a box.I’ve been crossfitting for 8 years and am in that mode where I’m pleasantly surprised if I PR or am able to improve technique. I haven’t been at UB long but have already experienced both! Experienced, and attentive coaching, and a fun and open community. I plan to stick around. :)
