Pretty good place to train. I've visited a dozen gyms around the country and it's one of the more accommodating ones, especially with the 2 week trial. I've also been training here for 9 months, after training somewhere else for 9 months as well; the instruction emphasizes articulating of the fundamentals and drilling. There are some pretty good membership packages that are affordable - saving about 50%. Private lessons with Eddie are also affordable and relatively easy to schedule. Also great guidance that helped me prepare for my first competition.

I inquired about signing my daughter up for classes and within 24 hours I had someone reaching out to me answering all of my questions. They let her come to one free class to make sure it was something she wanted to do. After that initial class, she loved it and we immediately signed her up. The instructors were patient and not only taught holds and moves during class but also important life lessons, such as respect, self confidence, and kindness to those around them. I am so happy we found the Eddie Fyvie Academy for my daughter and look forward to seeing what she is capable of!

This is a great gym. I walked in off the streets with no fighting experience and no idea how to learn this skill. Eddie and his team of coaches were welcoming and provided a simple and well laid out path for how I could learn and improve my skills. The coaching staff are extremely knowledgeable and break down ideas and techniques into learnable lessons. Eddies passion for Jiu-Jitsu is contagious and makes you want to keep asking questions and keep training. The gym is clean and provides a welcoming atmosphere. If your thinking about walking in and trying it out, just do it.

Eddie has a way of breaking down techniques that is truly amazing. He is very patient and genuinely loves teaching jiu jitsu. From young kids to the elderly, he has a way of communicating and making everybody feel as if they're on the same page. I highly recommend training at Eddie's facility regardless of your situation. His professional demeanor and attitude brings such a great atmosphere to his facility that you will want to keep going back.

This message is for Tim Burke. Wearing a mask is pointless when grappling being that you're making direct contact with others, well within the 6 foot guidelines, (not mandate). You probably shouldn't bring your kid to BJJ class if you're concerned about covid but I'm willing to bet every jiujitsu practitioner has a stronger immune system than most considering all of the contact we make on a regular basis.

Clean and professional. Eddie has been at the forefront of Jiu-Jitsu in the area for many years. Eddie has an ability to translate technique and concept that goes unparalleled. Eddie works diligently to instill discipline and focus among his child students. Eddie offers a strong emphasis on bullying prevention which has manifested itself in his students actions outside of the academy. When Eddie is not present he employs instructors who share his attributes and bring their own unique attributes to class which further diversifies skill and offers even greater perspective.

This academy is nothing short of amazing. Each Professor that teaches brings something different and highly valuable at the same time. Professor Eddie provides a safe, clean environment for adults and children and has a genuine interest in the success of each student regardless of their background or origin. The atmosphere inside the gym is inviting and everyone there is relaxed, easy going, and helpful.Professor Eddie provides anti-bullying instruction in the kid's classes that is important and necessary given the reality many children face in the capital region and beyond. Both of my children hold Professor Eddie in high regard and often repeat things that he has told them months after it was conveyed. This is an academy where your life will change for the better. If you are looking for a way to challenge yourself physically and mentally in a safe, clean environment then look no further.

Really great place!!! My son attends and I cannot brag enough about how fantastic Eddie is with the children and the overall confidence my son has gained even in the short time he has attended! Very happy with his lessons.

There's much to be said about the passion behind the Professors at this academy. This is a great place to learn, the atmosphere is friendly, the Professors are experienced, and the location is convenient. They usually have multiple classes throughout the day and they make it easy to find a class between both academies with their online schedule. This was my first Jiu-Jitsu academy, and prior I had no idea what to expect. In my 8 months I've grown to love Jiu-Jitsu. And I love who I am becoming along the way even more.

Really excellent gym, great for beginners and advanced students alike. I dropped in on a Monday evening while traveling and was welcomed like a regular remember of the gym. The instructor stayed over an hour after class to correct people’s technique and answer everyone’s individual questions (including my own). I’ve dropped in at dozens of gyms around the country and this was the best experience I’ve had. Many thanks to Steve and the rest of the Eddie Fyvie Nisky crew.
