When we casually looked into a martial arts class for our son, we didn’t realize just how much he would benefit from being a student at Schenectady Karate and Kobudo. It has been wonderful! He gets a lot of personalized instruction, has developed a great relationship with the other students and is learning a valuable skill. The benefits have extended into other areas of his life too (i.e. socialization, physical agility and emotional stamina). We are so thankful for Steve Ober, aka Sensei, and everything he does.

Our 9 year old daughter loves it here. We were looking for the right instructor that has the old school teaching as Japan. We were going to get her one closer to home in Troy but when we met Sensei Steve (which he got his Black Belt in Japan) and how he he teaches the kids, we decided it was worth the 45 minute drive for our girl.. She has been going for 6 months now. She has even more confidence and is glowing with happiness every time after class.Even at times when she is not in the mood to go, she is so happy she went! Sensei Steve is also very reasonable on his price for membership. Worth every penny!Momma,Salena

Having my oldest son here for going on 4 years has done wonders for his growth and self esteem. My young son has been there for about a year now. Sensei is a down to earth and caring instructor with tremendous achievements and skills in which he gladly passes on to his students. The class schedules are convenient AND the dues are affordable. I am glad I found Schenectady Karate and Kobudo.
