Ms. Merrill has been one of my son's biggest inspirations since he started at Star! She's an amazing teacher and the program will help your child (and you!) find a confidence they didn't know they had.

My daughter started at Star in South Bend in October 2021. She was super excited to start from the moment she met Mrs. Merrill b/c her excitement for TKW is contagious!. We signed our daughter up for the Black Belt Club and have seen progressive improvement every month. Ms. Cooper has been fantastic answering my never-ending questions about TKW, tournaments, classes and everything else that I don't know about TKW. :) The schedules are flexible and are pretty easy to work into our lives. I can't wait to see how she will continue to grow in self defense, physical fitness, leadership and self confidence as she works towards her Black Belt. Meeting other Star parents and teachers from the other two schools, it is quite obvious that the teaching style and values are carried between them all. Mrs. Merrill does a great job creating a fun and positive class while safely learning TKW. Thanks everyone, we love Star Martial Arts!!

I am thoroughly impressed with the people at Star. They provide a safe, positive place for children and adults to achieve their full potential. The physical benefit is only a part of what students get here. The instructors foster growth in many areas of the students' lives. Not only do they engage the kids and adult students with great energy, they also involve parents in the lessons. My child and I are both getting a benefit from the instructors on a daily basis.Their schedule is flexible, making it easy for busy households to fit class time in their schedules.

Small space that doesn’t have nearly enough chairs for parents, often times leading to lots of people being forced to stand. Overcrowded back-to-back classes with no cleaning or mat sanitization in between. Keep in mind that once you’re on a contract, there’s no backing out. Even in the case of major life changes such as a medical problem affecting the family, you will receive no refund or sympathy.Three stars, only because the instructor is great.

The whole team is amazing. Everyone wants the best out of all students. They make you feel confident at all levels of ability.

Mrs. Merrill and Mrs. Cooper are great instructors. Our 5 y/o attends and he is doing wonders with following the rules in class which helps him to focus more in school and at home. Confidence wasn't an issue for him but we can see a great deal of pride and joy when he walks onto the mat. Mrs. Merrill helps him learn new moves, protective skills, and acknowledge and break away from stranger danger. Our boy attends 2 times a week. So great we joined 💕

I take my son here every week, at least twice a week. Mrs. Merrill is the best instructor. She always has so much energy and enthusiasm and clearly loves what she does. She is patient, yet firm with her students, teaching discipline and self control. Her technique embodies the spirit of martial arts and she serves as a role model for her students to emulate.

We enjoy Mrs. Merrill’s spirit and energy during our sons first Martial Arts classes ever. Definitely recommend this class to any child looking for a safe way to learn discipline and self defense and also awareness. So grateful we signed Jr. up!
