WARNING: EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION BEFORE SIGNING UP LA Fitness has gained notoriety for its unethical practices, and my recent encounter with this morally questionable company has reached an unprecedented low. In August 2021, I ventured into the Troy, MI location with the intention of canceling my mother's membership and initiating my own. To my dismay, the gym manager assured me that my mother's membership had been terminated and my new membership was activated. Regrettably, this was far from the truth, as they merely froze her account and continued to charge her full membership fee's 3 months after the freeze concluded, starting in December 2021.Upon contacting the operations manager, Derek Poslaiko, he immediately adopted a defensive stance and audaciously placed the blame on the customer for lacking "proof" of cancellation, despite the cancellation occurring in person with no supporting documentation provided to me. Furthermore, my mother has not set foot in the gym since that day, which is evident from their records. Instead of showing trust and cooperation, Mr. Poslaiko chose to be condescending, discourteous, and utterly indifferent.It is abundantly clear that this gym, along with its appointed managers, operate in a highly questionable manner. I strongly advise you to redirect your financial resources and patronage elsewhere.

This gym is so dirty and gross. My partner and I went to the pool as we typically enjoy the pool at other locations but this one was disgusting. There were napkins at the bottom of the pool and when my fiancé grabbed the pool skimmer it was already full of bandaids. Every piece of metal in the pool was rusted beyond belief as well as the walls. There's also not good ventilation in the pool area. It took me ten minutes to get the courage to swim in the water with how dirty it was. The pool dividers don't even hook the metal hooks broken off the wall and left that way. I will never be back at this location ever again don't waste your money here find another location or another gym.

Pool is not fully maintained. And we as members sometimes have only one lane. The other two lanes are dedicated to Safesplash, where they have their swimming classes on Sat and Sun. They can improve more on cleanliness. The majority of the equipment is old it needs to be replaced.

One of the worst LA fitness's I've ever been to. Place needs major renovation and new equipment. The carpet needs to be removed as its ripped all over the place. The equipment are loose and the bench area is atrocious in terms of the benches and weights. Everything in here is old. I don't know how people workout here.

First day working out here and tbh this was the grossest gym I’ve ever been in. Sounds like a great value but… the machine felt grimy like they’ve never been cleaned, needs a lot of renovation, bathrooms were gross half of the sinks didn’t work most missing soap, 2 of the 5 hand sanitizers stations were empty. Didn’t even make it to the pool or hot tub. Beware… this place is absolutely disgusting.

Troy, Big Beaver Club.Women’s Locker Room.The locker room has been very dirty for the past couple of months. I am not sure where Grace the locker room attendant went but ever since she has been gone the place has been dirty. All the shower drains have gobs of hair in them even the drains outside the individual lockers. The curtains need to be changed at least monthly. They have mold growing in them. The entire locker room needs a good vacuum or sweeping.I would think there would be check list that locker room attendants to follow. Please start checking up on the attendants daily.

The staff are not on the same page at all. One will tell me I need an appointment for a guest pass, the next will say just to come in.When I do come in, they make me wait ten minutes, collect my personal information, and then ask me to submit payment information before activating a FREE guest pass. You’d think a gym thats marketed as a nicer option wouldn't try to scam you, and would be more respectful/kind.

It’s a great gym and I have been going for the last 4 years. They can improve a little bit on the cleanliness for the spa and pool.

I've been at LA fitness for about 9 months now and am moving where there are no LA fitness locations. It was very easy to cancel our membership, with zero hassle. This gym is normally pretty clean, machines get fixed in a timely manner and I've never had any issues while going here.

My partner and I have been going to this gym for three months. It is a great experience. The facilities are almost always clean. The diversity of individuals who attend the gym are great. The patrons are friendly as are the staff. I am doing personal training to build muscle prior to surgery and the trainer is great. Nicole helps develop goals that fit you and teach you exercises you actually like to do and will come to the gym to do without having to bribe yourself over cookies and ice cream for.
