Life Time at Troy, MI boasts excellent amenities and a friendly staff. It's a family-friendly gym offering varied activities from rock climbing to swimming. However, some feel the reduced hours and membership fees don’t match up. Others appreciate the child care and birthday party services. Cleanliness and machine availability pose concerns, especially on weekends. Members enjoy facilities like saunas, steam rooms, and the cafe, but unsupervised children and crowded conditions can be frustrating.

The gym's vibrant community activities, such as basketball and pickleball, attract many, though event scheduling sometimes disrupts member access. Fitness classes, hot tubs, and ample parking are notable perks. Yet, inconsistent service quality and high school crowds somewhat mar the experience.

Pros:

  • Excellent amenities.
  • Friendly staff.
  • Varied activities like rock climbing and swimming.
  • Family-friendly environment.
  • Great child care services.
  • Saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs available.
  • Good food options in the cafe.
  • Plenty of parking.
  • Quality fitness classes and equipment.
  • Easy to cancel membership.

Cons:

  • Reduced hours aggravate members.
  • High membership fees.
  • Cleanliness and machine availability issues.

This place is constantly a disaster. There are about two-three employees that actually keep the upstairs clean (the early morning people) otherwise it’s a disaster in the gym. The weekend employees aren’t friendly and don’t ever clean the upstairs gym part. We pay a lot of money for this membership and it’s a shame that management allows their employees to put in such minimal effort. Especially when the weekend workers just hangout outside the locker rooms chatting the entire time when there’s a lot of work upstairs that could be done to keep this gym as neat and welcoming that it is on weekday mornings.

Towels are very old and stained sauna is always filthy and smells showers almost every time out of shampoo and body wash other then that it’s a great gym

I loved this place at first but the shine has worn off. I agree with other reviews here that people sit on machines on their phones not working out. Lots of high school gym bros after school. I try to register for classes on the app but half the time I'm told the registration window is closed but to date, no one can tell me what the registration window is.What's really disappointing is that LT is in the process of updating the cardio space, which means for the past two months the cardio options are cut in half, but not my membership fees. There's no timeline on when the new machines are coming, so I try to go on off-peak times just to be able to get a machine. I'm definitely going to look into other gym options in the area.

It doesn't have the feel of a high end luxury club. It feels more like a hangout for high school students after school. I've repeatedly seen members throwing weights, making loud piercing noises, slamming weights on machines, and there's …

I love this gym! The environ's are super nice, there is a ton of equipment, pickleball here is really fun, their hot tubs / steam showers are great, and there is plenty of parking. They even have a place to grab a bite to eat if you need a pick-me-up

Man, me and my family love this place so much. Wish we could go back. Me and 12 of my relatives all canceled a while back. Only reason I give it 3 stars and only reason why we canceled is because they aren’t 24/7 anymore and a lot people …

Is this a gym or tutor time? Every single time i come on the weekends there’s a birthday party on the basketball court. I only come here for basketball and it seems to never be available. Not to mention they took 1 court away for pickle …

Child care center is great. The workers all seem to know what they're doing and my daughter loves to visit. I love the pool, sauna and hot tubs. It just makes me feel like I'm on vacation for a minute. Also reasonably easy to cancel your membership at any time which is nice

I went here for a birthday party for my cousin's son (Odin). For those unaware: they apparently do reservations for parties and such? I was completely unaware myself since, I'd never heard of this place before the invite. As such, this …

We had our child’s birthday party here and all the kids had a wonderful time! The kids all had fun doing rock climbing, played games and we had a bounce house too! I highly recommend have a child’s birthday party at this Lifetime! Taylor was great to work with and she made everything easy and fun!! She did a great job setting everything up and making the birthday a success with the kids and parents! Thank you so much Taylor and Lifetime, we will definitely book another party here!
