There is a lot of people working there but whenever you ask them something (there are no towels available for example) they are rude and do not help you in any way. They seem to be just hanging around there and do nothing.

I’m training for a triathlon and needed to swim while traveling. Loved this pool! Plenty of lanes and great facility with everything you need.

This is an amazing gym with pretty much every type of workout equipment you can think of, a lot of it, an indoor running track, an Olympic size pool, basketball and badminton courts, boxing heavy bags, and I'm sure I've missed some things. It's also spotlessly clean and super well maintained with a great atmosphere too.

Took my little to the parent and child swim lessons here. It was great. Pricing is very affordable. Emily was an amazing instructor. Definitely will be coming back for more swim lessons with my little

Great place to workout, lots of equipment, and the facilities are always clean. Basketball courts, indoor track and pool are sweet perks. Beware this gym is not open to the public, but if you are affiliated with the U of A, such as alumni, student or employee then you can purchase a membership here. Note that you can sponsor up to 1 other person and they can purchase any of the passes, they don't have to be affiliated long as they have a sponsor.

Appalling work out music. Today they are playing head banging music which consists of people yelling, but no music or rhythm. I called the gym while I was there and asked that they change the sound track. I was assured they would let the gym staff in charge of music selection know- but it did not get changed while I was there

Disclaimer-Non UofA student review-I toured the rec center when I was visiting campus with a younger sibling, so I can't vouch for how it is during the semester. However, I do attend a Power 5 school in the Midwest and the this rec offers far more amenities and equipment than my campus rec center does. It was also clean and modern, but had some renovations going on in the student entrance when we were there.A lot of the feedback other student reviewers have (ie too many cardio machines and not enough weights) is very similar to my complaints about our rec center. Apparently there's now a rec center in the honors dorms (at UofA), so that might alleviate some of the foot traffic. I'd say though if I showed my university friends this rec center and asked them which one they'd prefer, almost all would pick Arizona's. That's my two cents! -RCJH

The equipment here is great - if you can ever get a chance to use it. The place is always packed. And yes, it's a student gym, so you expect it to be busy, but even so, it's too small for the percentage of the student population that actually utilizes the facility. Morning, noon, night, it doesn't matter - there are always hordes of students. Good luck getting a squat rack or bench, and if you do get one, be prepared to be asked multiple times when you are going to be done.Like most typical gyms, there are way more treadmills than anybody needs and not nearly enough weightlifting equipment. The graduate student gym is also a huge disappointment, as it's open precisely during the hours that most graduate students are unable to use it.It's a very nice looking building, and it's kept in good condition. There are individual bathrooms with showers that are extremely handy if you hate showering in a communal area. But overall, it's really too bad that despite the huge amount of student interest in using the REC, the university spends millions on a massive indoor practice stadium for the football team instead of expanding the REC to make it accessible to more students.

Awesome Rec. Center check it out it has many different things to do. Great atmosphere and knowledgeable staff. They have a great selection of rental items if needed. The dressing rooms are nice clean and spacious. Be sure to bring a lock though they don't provide one. The first time we went I ended up risking my stuff being stolen which isn't good so be sure to take a lock. We usually stay for hours which is nice.
