24 Hour Fitness in Castro Valley offers a compact gym experience with a range of machines and free weights. The gym is conveniently located, and the staff are consistently praised for their friendliness and welcoming nature. It's a suitable spot for locals to grab a quick workout and enjoy the sense of community fostered by regular members and attentive staff.

However, the gym falls short in several areas. Equipment is often outdated and poorly maintained, with frequent breakdowns causing inconvenience. The facility is small and crowded during peak times, limiting availability of machines. Despite being labeled 24 Hour Fitness, the gym does not operate round-the-clock, leading to further dissatisfaction among members.

It's good enough to get the job done. It needs some TLC. It's been getting some lately. Wi-Fi! Woohoo. Wish it was a bit bigger. Not bad.

By Far One of the best gyms I’ve been to, and I go to 24 hour centers all over the bay, and Los Angeles, and orange county areas. This place is small but it is always clean the staff is always outgoing really friendly, it’s not just once in a while, it’s every time I walk through those doors the staff there is warm and welcoming with greetings, they’ always say goodbye they always ask if you need something.most of the other club members are great for community as well .

Easy to find and plenty of free parking. Not large but it is an Active sized place with plenty of cardio. A few machines were down and could use more fans but staff friendly and have most of what you need. Was not crowded at night and was able to get in and out just fine. Looked smaller from outside and they seem to jam in most of what you need.

The staff is very friendly and the crowd in there is a good bunch but the facility is lacking. Dated equipment and restrooms. Only ONE squat rack which is an absolute joke. Expect long lines to use the rack. If you don't need a squat rack then everything else is fairly good you can come in and get a good lift in. The price is great and plenty of cardio machines for those that are incline to do cardio.I joined mostly for the free weights. There are many serious lifters here in this confined space so their can be lines for flat bench (only 2) and squat rack (only 1) I can NEVER get on the squat rack no matter what time of the day I come in. 7 AM on a Saturday and there was already a line to use the squat rack. People are courteous to each other but it's hard to work in with someone when they are dead-lifting or hip thrusting and you want to squat instead.Bathroom/locker room is a complete mess and i don't think it's because of the staff. It just very old and dated. Hard to keep something like that clean, men's toilet area is always in disgusting shape.. Never enough soap in hand-washing area or paper towels. For the price and everything else it's a solid spot. However, I think trying one of the other 24 hours in the area might be the best move for now until some changes are made here.
