Bayside Recreation Center

My first time here and it was a very good experience. It is spacious and maintained well. Nice workout room that has everything you need and large pool. A nice alternative to a crowded gym.

Family member was RENEWING a membership for swimming classes that a child has taken for over a year now. The front desk was giving a hard time over residency when we are a military family and we already showed this so called residency proof previously which was brought to her attention. The lady caught an attidude when she was questioned. We already paid for the swimming classes so we paid the membership for the year and hopefully we don't have to encounter this person again. Customer service is lacking and communication skills.

The best gym ever. It’s extremely clean and has the nicest most incredible staff ever! The members are all so friendly here. Everyone treats each other like family 🤗 …

I see many people saying great staff, it isn't very blunt and rude. Idk why, but twp three time the same people completely switch their attitude toward me and start using passive aggressive ways to be insulting and hateful. The facilities are good other than that.

Of all the recreation centers we have in our beautiful city of Virginia Beach my husband and I have found the Bayside Recreation Center to be the cleanest. Recently while swimming at Bayside a business gentleman from Rockville, Maryland was in the Bayside pool and he was quite taken back by the cleanest of the pool and the entire facility. I thanked him for his comments and then explained to him that we have several beautiful recreation centers located through out beautiful city.

Clean, well equipped, full range of equipment. Only negative is exercise class in room adjoining the gym. Instructor needs to ease up on the volume! Even with my earbuds / music playing, her music and direction blasted through.

Very clean place and welcoming environment, but the basketball courts are almost never open. They’re either playing pickle ball or ping pong. There’s a small variety of lifting options too, and only one squat rack.

Fantastic rec center with all kinds of great things to do inside. Membership at this place is one of the best deals you will ever find. Lots of classes offered throughout the day and they are all included with the membership price.

I've heard great things about this rec center! New to the area so I cant wait to join soon. The facility is quite nice and the location perfect for my commutes. I will absolutely update this review once I have the chance to take advantage of the fitness classes and equipment.

I don't have a membership but I go often to this establishment to play basketball. The gym is great and the overall facility is wonderful. The pool is nice and so are the work out areas. Non-residents don't have to pay an arm and a leg for memberships either. Day passes are a little bit much though. But it's not that bad still.
