Been going here probably for like 3 weeks and it's literally the best gym in the 757, i can actually focus on training and getting these gains. Nobody is on there phone and hogging up the equipment like other gyms and everyone just minds there business and don't try to interrupt you during your workout. Best gym hands down.

Great gym! I just love the variety and how easy it is to just go and workout! I have nothing else to say, they are amazing and really good to add new equipment yearly! Just sing in!

I joined Iron Asylum at their Castleton location a few years back and didn’t start going to IA-Kempsville until recent. The owners have always held their members accountable. Whether it is re-racking weights, cleaning their equipment and ensuring there are plenty of supplies, and my favorite rule- No creeping! Now that we are deep into COVID, they’ve taken even more measures. It’s incredible to see small business owners take such immaculate care of their locations. It’s no wonder their gyms have succeeded. I always feel comfortable, never worried about the level of cleanliness and if the weights are all over the place. If ever in the area or wanting to drop-in,IA is the place. Locally owned and military friendly!

I've been part of the Iron Asylum family since 2017 and this gym's service, equipment, personnel, athletes are second to none. I've trained at the Kempsville location since its inception and have not looked back. I can train as a Crossfitter, Olympic Weightlifter, Powerlifter and Body Building athlete all in this one location. When you compare the monthly fee to the services offered to include the 24/7 access, to other gyms in the Hampton Roads area....there is no gym that compares. Don't even think about it, come check it out, sign up, you will not be disappointed 💪😎

The facility is great. Has all the usual equipment and quite a few unique pieces of equipment, with additions being added periodically! Can get slightly crowded at peak times, but that should tell you everything you need to know about this place…people WANT to train here! The atmosphere from the fellow members, and no frills in the gym, motivate you to push yourself.Staff is always friendly and helpful!Has my highest recommendation in the Hampton Roads area!

Absolutely the best gym in Virginia, I’ve only been a member for a month now but so far have had nothing but a pleasant experience with other members and staff! The gym could use another leg extension machine and allow members to bring guests! All in all great place and great atmosphere.

Best gym in VA Beach! Staff is awesome, they constantly update the equipment, and has a super motivating environment. Plus, anabolic lighting.

You gotta love a gym that all it’s members go there for a common goal, and have mutual respect for the gym and one another. No one just stands around and takes up space, everyone wipes down their stuff. The atmosphere is perfect to get your pump in, love this place unlike any other gym out here

So, I’ve been going to The Iron Asylum since May of 2019 which would make it a full year since I became a member. At the time, I’d say I was new-ish at weightlifting, but not once have I ever felt judged here. People don’t bother you, they don’t stare. They hype you up no matter your level. The environment is empowering and everyone is super friendly. They’re constantly adding new equipment to allow for every style of working out whether it be powerlifting, CrossFit, bodybuilding. 24 hour access means you can get a lift in no matter how busy your schedule. The gym is clean and sleek in design with low lighting. I’ve recommended, I think, 9 or so people (give or take) who have all went and fell absolutely in love. I’m a member of several different gyms in the area, and I can honestly say out of my assortment of memberships, I tend to always gravitate back to IA.IA has been there through a major journey and transformation and given me the tools and opportunities and support to get me through that. I do not think I’d ever cancel my membership there. When they open back up, do yourself a favor and get a day pass. Try it out. Whether Kempsville is more your style or Castleton, I guarantee you’ll love at least one of the two!
