New Breed Academy is the best place to train. Perfect if you are in Los Angeles or Orange County. They have a big schedule, great classes, and all their coaches are very helpful. Great for getting into shape as well as learning some really useful technique.

Without getting carried away, I'd first like to say that New Breed is my home away from home. I came looking for a Jiu-Jitsu place to better help my Judo game. I came across this place another place and decided to check New Breed out first. I came in and the first person I was greeting by was the head coach, Johnny Ramirez. No Joke within 5 minutes I knew I was going to sign up at the academy.I have now been going to New Breed Academy since Feb, 2010. This place has some of the most down to earth people to not only train with but also help you out with anything else. As cheesy as it sounds but I consider everyone at New Breed my family and something like that is hard to come by. There are no better coaches than Johnny Ramirez, Chris Woolford, John Ouano, and Paul Barbosa to train with in BJJ and Sense Blinky in Judo.

In August of 2012 I decided to check out various BJJ and Muay Thai Schools in the areas of La Habra, Whittier and Santa Fe Springs. New Breed Academy from start to finish had very professional and friendly staff; I felt welcomed since I walked in. I first joined because I wanted to lose weight and get in shape. I soon found out that New Breed helped me to make life style changes not only in my training but also in my personal life. When I started I was 230+ lbs but as of now I'm 165 lbs and losing weight every month slowly and healthy, I feel better than ever. The instructors and professors here are very helpful and patient. If your looking to make life changes and lose weight at the same time you have found the right place. Im sure you'll love it the same way I do.

Being at New Breed has been such a great, empowering, and uplifting experience for me. Even in the first few months I noticed a huge positive difference in my strength, weight, stamina, and motivation. The instructors and students both contribute to an encouraging environment. No matter how much or how little you are in shape to begin with, you are pushed at your own level and you improve your skills and power. I greatly appreciate the unique women's self defense program which compliments our training, and I am always 100% comfortable in other classes even if I am the only female there. The attitudes are always positive and every class is a challenge that is well worth it! The kids classes are also great and my son felt the positive environment right away. I am naturally a very frugal person :) but being at New Breed has been worth every penny. It helped my son and I to foster such a love for martial arts that we plan to keep it going throughout our lives.

In June of last year, I had the opportunity to train at New Breed Academy while preparing for the World Jiu Jitsu Championships. Their instructors were not only friendly and knowledgeable, they had a way of instructing students in a way that made it easy for anyone to learn the technique they were showing. That made such a lasting impact on me, that we began to implement similar teaching techniques at our New Breed Academy in Hawaii. It is always a pleasure to train with these guys, as you get great instruction, a good workout, but you also get a lot of laughs in while on the mat. I would highly recommend New Breed Academy for anyone who is looking for a gym to get fit and learn some really cool stuff. They have a program for anyone! Miss you guys! See you again soon.

My wife and I have been at new breed since January 2012 and the experience has been nothing but exceptional. I wanted to wait a few months training here before I can give an honest review. The instructors here are very friendly, helpful and encouraging to both existing students and new students. The owner Johnny Ramirez is not only experienced in BJJ, but he really showed that he cares for his students and very supportive. He is always at the academy and doesn't mind getting on the mat to train with his students higher belt or even new students. Speaking of the students. All the students here at new breed are very supportive of one another. The higher belts students doesn't mind spending their mat time teaching the newer, less experienced students. Guarantee that you will not find any meathead students here.My wife and I are very happy that we found New Breed to train our BJJ. We highly recommend anyone looking for a place to train BJJ, muay thai, judo, mma, and woman's self defense.

After not training Jiu Jitsu for many many years and then deciding to get back into it. It wasn't a hard decision for me to pick the right school for me.New Breed Academy is great place for beginners & experienced practitioners alike. Its a VERY friendly ego-less environment. I was surprised to see how everyone is willing to help you grow and develop your Jiu Jitsu game. It has become a home away from home and a new family to me. I have lost 12 lbs already and I am starting to feel healthy & alive again. Besides Jiu Jitsu they have Muay Thai Kickboxing, boxing, MMA, condition training. Jiu Jitsu changed my life for the better a long time ago and it is doing it again right now. I am so happy to have found this place that this review cant really explain how I feel. If you are really interested in training Jiu Jitsu you should give this place a try. Im sure you will not regret it.

I'm from whittier and I've been going to New Breed Academy for about nine months now and i absolutely love it! I train Brazilian Jiu JItsu and the instructors and staff are amazing. They are patient, thorough, and very friendly. The students are also helpful and friendly and i love being around them. The conditioning classes are very challenging; a good class to take to stay in shape. New Breed is a place that I now love and I plan to stay here for a while. I strongly suggest this gym to anyone!

Freaking AWESOME classes. Coach Ramirez explains his techniques in a totally dumb-proof way that's easy to follow and impossible to be bored. A little more mat space would be great, because classes are packed, but there's always great guys to roll with. Highly recommended!

This is the 4th gym I’ve trained at and this place is by far the best. I can’t say enough good things about this place and its staff so I’m goanna highlight a few things that stand out for me.-IF YOU WAN TO LEARN THEY WILL TEACH YOU, DOESN’T MATTER WHO YOU ARE! Unlike other places that will only help you out if you’re going to compete for their gym- All the instructors are highly qualified and have competed in their art-No attitudes, everyone is friendly and willing to help including other students-I saw a guy getting ready for a fight and they would even cook for him so he had the proper things to eat after his work out. I’ve never seen anything like that before.
