Did a trip to Wilmington to go to the beach but decided to get some rounds in at the jiu jitsu institute. Super friendly place. Great professor. Had some good hard fun rolls and everybody was super nice. Five stars. 10 out of 10. Would recommend.

You can learn BJJ at a lot of places. Not a lot of places though make you feel like family like this one does. No egos, just great instructions and camaraderie. The students can be a great representation of the atmosphere of a gym and the students here are top notch. The Professor here likes to have a good time but takes teaching & training serious, which is a great combination for me. Highly recommend for anyone looking to better themselves. Just don’t puke on the matt.

Very clean gym, great classes. An instructor who truly enjoys teaching and focusing on the fine points of each technique, with years of experience under some of the highest ranked Brazilian jiu jitsu instructors. Truly a great choice for a safe, clean environment to train.

I’ve been doing jiu jitsu for a few years now and have trained at multiple gyms across the country. I was very impressed tonight at JJI. The instructor was very knowledgeable and was also a good teacher. The atmosphere was very friendly and helpful. And the facility was very clean and well put together. Highly recommend

I anxiously waited for this gym to open for months and I’m so happy I did. The gym is very well maintained and clean. The instructor is great as well, always ensuring a safe and welcoming training environment. Both the kids and adult instructors go the extra mile to ensure the progression of their students. If you’ve been trying to get into Jiu Jitsu I would highly recommend trying this academy out!

JJI is a great place to train, both for people that have tried Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and also for veterans of the art/sport. There's a great mix of students at this clean, professional facility. Gil (the owner) is an experienced instructor that has traveled the country for years to improve his own abilities as a practitioner of the art and also as an instructor. His classes are easy to follow, they follow a progression, and there are gems in every class for new students and senior students. There's also plenty of time for sparring, and the environment is open, welcome, and fun, while also providing a challenging environment for students to grow and develop!
