Joining a new gym may bring up some anxiety or worry. But O2 has been the model of what a gym should be to me: welcoming, friendly, clean, and building a community. All this from a preview studio - I can't wait to see what happens when it officially opens.I moved to Winston earlier in '23. I looked around at almost every gym. I joined as a founding member in March. As a fitness instructor, it was important for me to find a space that aligns with my thoughts on exercise- that movement isn't just for weight loss and aesthetics. It's about being fun, finding challenges, trying something new to maximize living life outside the gym.First, the staff are so welcoming, helpful and truly building community. Special shout outs to Brittany, Matt, and Jarrod.Secondly, the gym truly invested in the equipment. From what I can see from the machines, free weights, and cardio machines, they did not cut corners on any of it. Small things that say a lot: the equipment is made for all levels and abilities. For example, the barbell collars (a clamp you put on the end of a barbell to hold the weights safely in place) can be used with one hand. They aren't the type you squeeze and attempt to pry off the bar. For some people, these are limitations. But it demonstrates their commitment to accessibility and movement for everyone.The machines are smooth and easy to operate. I teach spin and the STAGES bikes they will have in the main facility (that I can see from the marketing) are the best in the business. I've ridden on them all and STAGES bikes are in a league of their own.Overall, the cost is affordable (but I suppose this is relative).I fully recommend O2 and can't wait for the full gym opening!
