Downtown Yakima YMCA offers a comprehensive fitness experience with something for everyone. Located at 5 N Naches Ave, Yakima, WA, it boasts facilities such as basketball courts, racquetball courts, a track, a pool, weightlifting, and cardio equipment. Affordable pricing ($35-$50 per month) makes it accessible, and it opens early at 5 AM to accommodate various schedules. However, the gym does close early at 7:30 PM, which can be restrictive for some.
The locker room can get crowded at times and customer service has mixed reviews. Despite this, the YMCA offers a variety of classes and daycare services. Notably, it supports yoga and dance, providing a flexible space for diverse fitness regimes.

People who are not familiar with the town should go here when it comes to basketball. Competitive pick up games on the legendary 4th floor. My favorite place to go to. Follow a good workout with a good 15 minutes in the steam room. You go home feeling real nice.

Our granddaughter is seven. She joined the swim team and was so excited. No where does it say you are only trying out for the swim team. She swam once and the next day they called and said she was not good enough. She cried and when she went to bed, she told her dad, “They did not even give me a chance.”She can swim but they said she was not a strong enough swimmer. We thought the idea of the YMCA was to work with and teach kids. Who knew?

Great! Basketball courts, racquetball courts, a running track, a pool, plenty of weight lifting equipment and cardio machines, and I love the classes! There is daycare and kids classes and activities. There is no longer a "Triangle Membership," so everyone has access to all facilities, including the sauna, hot tub (and a steam room for men only). Looking forward to checking out the new Aquatic Center with my membership. I am very grateful the Y was willing to work with me to make it affordable. I like to come here and use the space on my own doing yoga and dancing. Very flexible space able to accommodate changes in preferences and interests throughout the year.

Over all the center is nice and clean not crowded most of the time, I have been there on times where I have had to wait for equipment to free up but that was to be expected after the new year.I gave them one less star because the locker room changing area can be standing room only and your luck if there is an available locker to store your things. In the years past I used the Y down town but have not been there since the aquatic center open, I have been planning A visit but will wait till the boiler is repaired and their back up and running “ full steam”.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE,Worst experience as a membership ever,I spoke with Robert Suarez and this guy was the most unprofessional rude and disrespectful representative.I had asked to cancel my membership in October and they ended up billing me in February! They must not be making ends meet to must want to screw over their previous customers.I called to get this rectified they said they couldn't do anything about it even thought I no longer lived in the area.DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR SCAM THEY ARE SNAKES AND ARE JUST OUT FOR YOUR MONEY.

Staff are a bunch of smart a**'s. like yeah come spend lots of money on a triangle membership you can bring guests but waits to tell you, you have to be at least 20 to actually do that

When it comes to those interested in cardio and weight lifting equipment, this is the best gym in town for the best price. $35-$50 per month (depending on your age) gets you access to a pool, basketball and racquetball courts, and an entire large floor of free weights and machines. I've had memberships to a few other gyms in town and they're all either the same price while being significantly smaller, have contracts unlike the Y, or are lacking in certain equipment like squat racks and free weight (like planet fitness). The only downside to the Y is the evening hours. You better be a morning/afternoon person since they open at 4:30am otherwise you'll have to deal with the large after-work crowd that shows around 5pm. Gym access closes down around 8pm so I don't recommend if you can only work out late evenings.
